We have stayed here before and liked it but felt standards have slipped. Room not as clean, mould in shower, shower not draining properly. Breakfast a big disappointment, hot buffet was a shambles as not enough of everything. Staff were trying hard but systems were obviously not in place. Dirty glasses and cups. Mentioned breakfast at check out and were told that she would pass on our feedback but no apology. Sadly we won’t return to this hotel.

Fab stay, really accommodating staff. Facilitated a late checkout really easily. Only downside was king bed was 2 beds pushed together so slid apart in the middle of the night

Service let's this place down.

General check in was quick and friendly. The disappointment was the actual room, hair in and around the bath , air con was a making a loud buzzing noise so we had to turn off. The issues were addressed and dirty areas cleaned. The bar service again was a disappointment, the lady serving was too busy having a laugh and a joke with the one customer and oblivious to the others. Even so she handed over a dirty wine glass, not even an apology or concerned one bit! Breakfast, again not a great experience.

Nice hotel.

Friendliest front desk and wait staff. Nice breakfast. Full breakfast with menu options plus buffet. Buffet only was a bit limited, but had good fruit. Room cleaning staff did fantastic job, just a bit over eager in the mornings, knocking on your door every 5-10 minutes!

Room was nice but quite noisy. Droning sound of air conditioners or some type of machinery could be heard often. View from room wasn’t great. Room itself was nice but a little small. Tv was outdated, no Netflix or streaming for example. Room was clean and tidy but walls were marked and scuffed in places. Bathroom tap only stayed on when flow was high. Staff were friendly and welcoming throughout stay and service at breakfast was good. Breakfast itself was ok but would have preferred to get it myself rather than order. Cooked Yorkshire breakfast was ok but was a little disappointed however continental items were very good. Hot drink were ok but again would prefer to help myself rather than keep having to ask. Were I to visit York again I’d opt for another hotel.
