I recently stayed at City Pop in Zurich and was pleasantly surprised by the modern, self-service concept. There’s no reception desk—instead, everything is handled online. About a week before arrival, I received an email requesting my card details. Once provided, I was sent detailed check-in instructions, including codes for the entrance and my room. These were also shared via WhatsApp, which was very convenient.
The hotel is located about 10 minutes on foot from Zurich’s central train station, and it was easy to find. The check-in process went smoothly with no issues.
My room was clean, spacious, and looked brand new. It had a minimalist but stylish design, with great lighting, a TV, and plenty of outlets. The bed was comfortable, and both the linens and pillows were of good quality. Amenities included a kettle, coffee machine with tea and coffee, fridge, microwave, plates, and cutlery—everything you need for a short stay.
The bathroom was spotless, with a powerful shower, soft white towels, and quality toiletries. Storage was practical, with a wardrobe, full-length mirror, and drawers.
The only downside was the noise from nearby bars and clubs at night, although it was quiet during the day. It didn’t bother me, but light sleepers might want earplugs.
A major convenience was the supermarket downstairs, offering groceries, hot meals, and discounts—perfect for easy dining.
