As a lone female, arriving at thus property was intimidating. There is a Sports Bar on one corner, a strip club on the other and a nightclub (although nightclub was shut). It felt (to me) a bit shady/seedy. If you are looking for cheap and basic accomodation this is for you. Apparently it 'used to be' a Hostel, definitely seems to be...or a brothel !!

Property a bit tired, and bedroom door difficult to unlock, but the receptionist was incredibly helpful and friendly, and it's just a few minutes walk from the bus and train stations.

The hotel is in a very convenient location, just a few minutes walk from the train station. The room we stayed in was a decent size and the bathroom was huge. The windows were huge, almost floor to ceiling which let in a lot of natural daylight. In the evenings and at night, you don't even need to switch on the lights in the bathroom, as it is lit up from all the street lights outside. The guy in reception was very friendly and helpful. When we checked out in the morning, we were able to leave our bags in a locked cupboard room until we were ready to leave. I believe the hotel has not been opened very long, maybe only a few months. However, it doesn't feel finished. The rooms could do with a deep clean. The carpet was stained, there was a lot of dust and there was staining on the ceiling from water damage / leaking. The curtains aren't attached properly and were coming off at the sides, but they were too high for me to reach to be able to fix them. Also, the room was very noisy from all the outside noise, people talking loudly and shouting, noise from the nightclub and gentleman's club right next to the hotel and the noise from cars constantly speeding up and down the cobbled streets at all hours is very annoying. All in all, for the amount we paid, it wasn't terrible but it also wasn't the best hotel we've stayed in. The rooms are very basic and no frills, but it is very conveniently and centrally located. The hotel is ideal for a short stay.

Ideal budget hotel in a great city centre location. The receptionist was friendly, helpful and even allowed us to avail of a late check out. Rooms have everything you could need and cannot be faulted for the price.

Ideal for a short overnight.

It’s a basic room, would like to have another towels and pillows. It’s ideal for a short stay over with low budget.

Bloke at the front desk was brand new, real friendly guy. The hotel’s just a bit of a rundown wreck. And my room’s window was so close to a nightclub entrance that I could practically reach out & touch it. Definitely wouldn’t stay there again.

I didn’t expect too much for the price I paid but there were a lot of things lacking in this hotel. No card machine, reception was just a guy and his phone, lift out of order. The actual room was incredibly basic although the bedding and bathroom were clean. You get what you pay for I guess

I stayed for 2 nights at the start of the month. The main reason I picked this place was because most modern / biggest hotel brands don’t have baths anymore, and this was one of the only hotels that offered it at a reasonable price in Aberdeen. It’s also very conveniently situated to the train station which is a bonus. I am a solo female traveller, so I was very spooked when I saw a previous review saying this place was unsafe for people like me. I can sympathise with that reviewer as I felt uncomfortable with there being no peephole cover, only one lock (that didn’t appear very secure anyways) and being right next to a club outside. However, it wasn’t as scary as I expected it. The place was honestly pretty clean, maybe not been deeply cleaned for a while as I moved my single bed closer to the centre of the room and side table and there were a lot of debris and dust under it from previous stayers. The bed sheets and towels were clean, the mattress and kettle looked new, and the windows were double glazed so I really can’t complain for anything but the loud sound from the club outside and some parts of the room needing repaired. The staff were great also, very caring and inquisitive, however one thing that bothered me was the lack of front of desk on Saturday. I went in and out the hotel on Saturday at 9am, back in at about 11am, left at 12:30pm, back at 7pm, out at 8pm, and finally back at 10:45 and still, the front of desk was nowhere to be seen. Quite irresponsible.

The staff were lovely and polite, put us in a room on the first floor as the lifts weren’t working and were available via text message when we needed them. The room was spacious, clean and beds were comfortable. It is near a busy street so there was a lot of noise from outside but I’m a heavy sleeper so it didn’t bother me. It’s definitely worth the price for a few nights in the city when travelling on a tight budget.
