This property was ok. Location was good for what I needed, but seems to attract large young rowdy groups staying. Beds were terribly made, sheets didn't reach the end so felt gross on your feet. Room was not cleaned well each day.

Clean hotel with good ambience

Spacious and comfortable room. Staff were all polite. Gym was a bit small. Located not far from Rundle mall; a few massage parlours close by and eateries. Walking distance to convention centre. Nice ambience in the lobby.

The property was a very good deal online, surprisingly not booking direct. It got fabulous reviews so I knew I had to stay there. The biggest selling point was the hot tub in the pool. Unfortunately, as always happens, the hot tub did not work. They said they heated it up the first day and it was cold the second day Even after I was assured it would be warm within the hour. It wasn't .I left after that so I'm wondering if it is always cold but listed onsite for booking purposes only, not to be used?. That was my only first world beef. Great hotel though.

This is a well run hotel with good staff. I had a peculiar problem with parking that was provided as part of the VIP service but was very difficult for me to find even though the entrance is quite close to the entrance of the hotel. My criticism is a bit unfair for that reason but I think I'd prepare future customers for the parking facility by providing very specific instructions how to find it. One of the problems of the property is that it is apparently located in what once was or is a "red light" district. I didn't find this feature a problem. At night there was what could have been prostitution going on. It's a very active area with lots of scantily dressed young women. Some may not like this. I have no problem with it, personally because i'm quite open minded about this issue. The vibe is actually a bit like New Orleans. For a central location and a lively ambiance outside the hotel, a good staff, clean facilities, this is a good hotel. Just do better with regards this difficult issue of finding the parking. That turned out to be a nightmare late at night when I couldn't identify anything and drove around well over an hour looking for it. I ultimately called the hotel and to their credit a young woman guided me to the parking. Good luck guys. I think you have a good thing going.

Service seemed lax compared to previous stays. I have been a regular customer for years. VIP benefits from Expedia were not honoured (typically a free room upgrade, and parking). Staff were informed of this but I was charged for both of them. Parking was reimbursed by Expedia in the form of credit, but not cash. This was disappointing. Food definitely needs improvement. Pizza was cold, uncooked and seemed to have been pre made and come from a freezer. (Was very cold inside and the cheese wasnt melted. The base seems as though it was pre-made but I am not sure. It was cheap though. Staff were quite accommodating and friendly, but it seems as though GCH is under new management, or perhaps some of the staff are students from the catering school which seems to be a part of the establishment now, I am not sure. The place is quite old, but it is well maintained and I honestly enjoyed most of my experience here but this time there were numerous issues which needed to be addressed and I felt were not handled on the same professional level that I am used to. Having said that, it wasnt a bad experience, the rooms are very clean, and comfortable, but those other issues needed to be mentioned in order for me to leave an honest review. I will continue to stay here, but I don’t recommend dining here. There are better options nearby. Steak was ok, but for the price you would expect something better from a nearby restaurant. I do recommend this hotel however.
