Staff not very helpful, I asked for extra pillows and a duvet at reception, never arrived to my room. The window next to the bed has not properly sealed air comes in to the room. I could felt the air coming directly to my face while sleeping even though I had the blind down. Also I had go and request cleaning my room as it was not cleaned, I has the room cleaning tag hanging at the handle door.

Reception staff were helpful. This is a converted prison and so quirkily interesting. The bed was fine and the room was spacious. However I couldn’t find any light switches other than at the door. Only way to turn off the lights was to remove the card key from its slot. Sink only had cold water so impossible to shave.

heb afgesproken met vrienden voor eten en drinken in Alkmaar en woon zelf ver weg. Dus 1 nacht verbleven. Dat is prima gegaan. Leuk is dat je nog duidelijk sporen ziet van de vorige bestemming van het gebouw. (Gevangenis) Alkmaar is trouwens ook wel een mooie stad om te bezoeken met traditionele panden en grachtjes.

Free parking is hard to get in Alkmaar, but from 17:00-9:00 it is free at the public parking next to the hotel (before passing the barrier) when you have the” pay by phone “ app you can easily pay if you need a bit longer. Enter through the Westerweg.

We got a room for disable, and upon asking for the reason for it, we have been told that once we ordered the cheapest room that what we get.. No one told us that parking is not free, and we had troubles to exit the parking lot upon leaving the hotel.

Vriendelijk personeel maar de kamer had overal los behang gebladderd plafonds. Kan wel een update gebruiken. Brandalarm in de nacht iedereen naar buiten Totaal geen communicatie wat er aan de hand was. Uiteindelijk stopte het alarm en iedereen ging maar weer nasr binnen zonder dat we wisten wat er aan de hand was. Erg slordig

Prachtig hotel met vriendelijk personeel

Fijn hotel met vriendelijk personeel. Rustig gelegen, op loopafstand van de binnenstad. Prachtig hoe de oude elementen van het Huis van Bewaring bewaard zijn gebleven. 's Ochtends een zeer uitgebreid ontbijtbuffet. Hoogtepunt was de rondleiding door de gevangenis door een oud-medewerkster. Tip: boek de rondleiding van tevoren, want het zit snel vol.

We zaten in het Fletcher hotel “De Gevangenis” in Alkmaar. Een oude gevangenis dus. Komen we op de kamer, kan er geen raam open, airco doet het niet, geen ventilator (de medewerker nog op zoek) en geen vervangende kamer! Wel klantvriendelijk, maar zeker niet klantgericht!
