Fantastic stay!

This place is so incredible. The rooms are big, fully stocked, and amazingly clean and comfortable. They also have a great hot breakfast, a pool, a nice clothing store with many needed accessories, a fun interior with games for adults and kids, a beautiful wishing well with koi, and a full bar. What more could you ask for. We will definitely be back.

Fun concept

Such a cute concept, but… still a lot of whatever this hotel’s last life was hanging around. House keeping banged on our door at 9:30 am (even though I had requested late check out), nonsmoking room reeked of cigarettes, the bed was really really firm, and there’s just a lot of unfinished details. That being said, staff was really nice, the location is good, and you can take a twisty slide from the second to ground floor if you want. Hope they keep refining their idea.

My opinions are certainly my own so here’s my good and bad. The restaurant is connected to the hotel. They have fantastic food and service. Super cute and worth every penny. However, the atmosphere of the hotel has an ideal theme but the hotel is very dirty. The kid areas such as the pool and playground were nice but they allow vaping and sell them in the hotel. The place smelled extremely strong of marijuana and vape smoke. Cigarette smell was overwhelming in our room. The internet was down or lagging so we had no TV. The rooms are not modern and the bathroom tub has mold in the calking. The beds are ok but not real comfortable. If you don’t mind marijuana, vapes and cigarettes then it may not bother you as it did me. Someone was having a birthday party and the kids loved the pool area and playground so that is a plus. We have not tried breakfast yet but the breakfast area looks decent. The small shop has great prices for boutique clothes. The mini golf is cute for the kids. Overall Amarillo in this area is very dirty and the people are not very friendly so the hotel seems to match the atmosphere. There’s a lot of trash in the parking lot around the hotel. It was nice to sit inside and watch my child swim so that’s a plus for all seasons. This place would be such a win if it was kept clean and didn’t allow smoking inside. It truly has a kid vibe but in my opinion places that advertise as kid amenities should not allow smoking in the establishment and clean it.

I stayed at Cactus Cove for a room and steak dinner while driving from California to Florida. The hotel was really cool and the ribeye I had at the steakhouse was perfect. The bed was comfy and i slept well. CC is convenient to 40, yet is much more quiet than one may expect. For anyone going through Amarillo, staying at CC is a must. Fyi, get the ribeye! No one goes to Texas and orders a salad.

The property is very well set up. It is easily accessible from the 40. We received a text message with room and how to access the room. I arrived late, there is a restaurant and some night life on property but the rooms are quiet and you are not able to hear any outside noise. Staff was friendly, lots to do with littles if you travel as a family and lots to do for some adult fun. They have massages available on property as well I was only passing through but will definitely stay again.

I love how they are updating their face property. The rooms are improving, some still need renovating, but they're gradually improving and that's what I like. The rooms are keyless now, like Big Texan. It makes it so much easier to check in, especially if you're traveling out of state and plan to get there after the check-in time. I like this place, it's always our choice to stay if we need to stay overnight in Amarillo. Thank you Cactus Cove Inn. We appreciate y'all.

This hotel was a huge disappointment. We had good expectations based on reviews and photos of the property, but once we got there it was a different story. You can tell that there was a strong effort to make common areas look good, but the room itself was not taken care of. Furniture was really old and damaged, it had what seem to be old carpeting (smelly too), ripped wall paper and most importantly the lack of privacy. The room had 3 big windows with broken shutters facing the common area, from the outside you could clearly see the bed thru a mirror inside, just by walking outside the rooms you could see what was going on inside the room. I decided not to spend the night and requested a refund but management said it was non refundable fee, which I would understand if the room was in a fair condition and felt safe sleeping at night.
