Outstanding Accommodations in Amsterdam

Commune Suites is located on a quiet street and in a great location. We could easily walk to museums, Anne Frank house and other tourist attractions. Alex, the proprietor, was very friendly and accommodating. I heartily recommend Commune Suites or someone looking for an AirB&B like experience.

Alex, the manager of the property, is wonderful--he had great recommendations and was very friendly and communicative. The room was gorgeous and the bed was very comfortable. This property is at a convenient location. Distance to shopping and dining areas are walkable and the environment is beautiful. We absolutely enjoyed a stroll in the morning. This was a quaint boarding house in a very quiet neighborhood in Amsterdam. The owner, Melissa welcomed us and was quite nice. Suites were spacious. The only drawback was the especially steep steps we were not prepared for because we had so much luggage. I would suggest this accommodation for light packers and for those in vacation for a few days not a couple weeks.

This is a classic brick multi-storey building in a fantastic area of Amsterdam. Check in was super simple, and our room got cleaned daily. The bed was great, the windows opened to allow plenty of fresh air. Everything is within easy walking distance, and there are restaurants on every corner. We hope to stay here again next year. If you cannot do stairs, this may not be the best place for you.

Great location and quiet. 2nd floor room was actually on the third floor, very steep staircase from the 2nd to 3rd floor, difficult to carry up 40 lb suitcases with no help. would not recommend unless you have very little luggage, picture shown is not the room we occupied This is a rented room from the owner, off the kitchen/eating area for those who take the B&B package ( we didnt)

Wonderful location, convenient to train and everything else Amsterdam has to offer. Quiet street. You must go up a steep staircase for room on third floor, so not handicap assessable. Nice bathroom and use of kitchen and washer/dryer on third floor. Good value.

We had a really nice stay at this property. We had two rooms booked. Layouts were different however both were really large. Only issue is no elevator and the stairs are very narrow/steep, but this is probably very common in a lot of european places. Just be prepared for stairs. Also, there was early morning construction noises that started around 7am. Other than those two things, we did enjoy our trip and highly recommend staying here.

1) Long steep stairs to room. No lift 2) Room does not reflect quality displayed in photos shown 3) no insulation to block foot noise or talking 4) front desk non existent, halls pitch dark, can’t see to turn on lights 5) floor with hair, filth, dirt and on also molding 6) bed just a mattress on a old water bed frame 7) towels old and tattered possible bacteria growth 8) cracks in shower floor and around toilet missing grout and material = bacteria? 9) outside street is just an alley way. Cab driver never heard of the place, couldn’t find the place. If we had known of conditions beforehand I would have cancelled and made other reservations elsewhere.1st time Expedia did not reflect ratings given in reviews. This place was not close to even one star. We were in shock for three days! Lodging is not commensurate to the price paid or shown in Expedia photos. Deceiving and mislead customers.
