I typically do not leave critical reviews; however, my experience at this hotel was disappointing. I have stayed at Steigenberger hotels previously in Frankfurt and found the staff there to be helpful and responsive, with facilities that were well maintained. Unfortunately, the Amsterdam Airport location did not meet the standards I have come to expect from the brand.
**Issues Encountered:**
1. **Airport Shuttle:** The shuttle bus was overcrowded, and I was directed to stand in the rear, holding only a strap for support. The driver, who was curt, took corners at high speed, making it difficult to keep my balance and avoid colliding with other passengers.
2. **Check-In Process:** Upon arrival, I waited more than 20 minutes in line despite observing only two to three clerks assisting guests. One staff member, although seemingly available, informed me she was only helping those without reservations.
3. **Room Temperature:** My room was clean; however, it was uncomfortably warm. The thermostat appeared nonfunctional, and repeated calls to guest services went unanswered.
4. **Breakfast and Shuttle:** Although I appreciated the complimentary breakfast, I opted not to partake due to concerns about catching the shuttle. Despite arriving early, the shuttle filled quickly, and I was unable to board. Ultimately, I took an Uber
From my perspective, this episode undermines the integrity of the Steigenberger brand
