The Studio Suite only had a lamp and two straight back chairs and was empty otherwise. Bird poop on outside of window and drips of white inside. Furnishings are very basic and sparse. Room is clean.

Not a Quality Wyndham

They only redeeming quality of this hotel is the proximity to the train station. Except the pulsating vibration from the train during the night can be a bit disorienting. I am surprised this is a Wyndham property. It may be time for the company to do a quality control check if you are to put your name to this hotel. I entered the lobby and was dived bombed by flying insects. The staff stated that they have been there for some time and just can't get rid of them. The front staff could use some customer service training but you can't blame them too much as the manager sets the tone for their employees. We requested additional pillows for the room and called down to the front desk to ask if they could bring them up. The person was confronting and accusatory on the phone and perturbed when they brought the pillows up. This is Alaska in the summer and black out curtains that go around the rod to block out the sun from the sides would be greatly appreciated. I opened the door to the toilet/ shower area and was blocked by the curved shower curtain rod. So the door only opened half way. With limited space in the room a curved curtain rod would not be my choice. The hotel could use some detail custodial cleaning as well. The first day breakfast was not stocked and the person serving was obviously annoyed and not having a good day. The second day's breakfast was much better. This was a very disappointing stay at a Wyndham, and will probably effect my hotel selection in the future.

it was close to the train station which was nice seeing we took the Denali star to Talkeetna for a day trip. just a short walk. it was also close to many of the popular restaurants. staff was friendly and the shuttle was great the negative was our room had an issue with hot water that was eventfully sorted out

We checked in at 1:30 am and the person that checked us in gave us the wrong room under the wrong name. They also double charged us the deposit during our stay, and the other no show's room we had. It took us talking to them everyday to finally get our deposit back on the day before we left. When we checked out we were not even in the system as staying there. For the 1st 3 days we had to keep getting our key cards reset just to get back into our room. Oh and they never offered to give us our king room. We stayed in a double bed room and slept in seperate beds the whole 9 days. The ULU Factory next door was very nice.

Unless you like trains that sound like they’re headed for your room, forget this hotel. Trains run every couple of hours from 5am to about 11pm I was told. But one passed at 2:15am. They ALL blow their horns multiple times. I was told that there is no room in the hotel that escapes the noise. I can’t believe that they built a hotel there. Breakfast is typical “breakfast included “ fare with a pretty small breakfast room. Avoid the main or second floor. The ceiling is very thin and noise seeps through. Don’t let the relatively low price for Anchorage hotels suck you in unless your budget dictates having to stay there.

We would have got better sleep in our rental car at a random parking lot. This place was very noisy. Its across the street from a train station where a train blowing the horns every 2 hours through the night kept you awake all night. The pool was across from our room and was being used all night wIth slamming doors all night, and same with the gym next door to our room. WORST stay ever! And we PAID $ 400 FOR 1 NIGHT!! Totally appalled over this! paid $ 400!

It’s obvious the property is undergoing some updates. However, when I look at the pictures online, they’re quite deceptive. I know that pool maintenance is difficult in a commercial setting, but allowing it to become green is a huge issue. I know that mice are an issue anywhere, but having traps accessible under the sink isn’t the best when other options are available. Ensuring sheets are thrown out when stained could help as well. The staff was great and the property is well on its way to being better, but there are ways to make it a better experience without breaking the bank.
