The toilet overflowed within 2 hours of the 1st evening of my stay. The property management was very responsive upon notification and a plumber was onsite within 30 minutes. However, the property manager did not follow up after the service and did not send anyone to clean the bathroom of the toilet wastewater. This made me very uncomfortable. The old wood entry gate did not allow easy access to the driveway in front of the home. I needed to use a bungy cord to keep the gate open so my car would not get damaged during entry. No one advised me of this. I had a bungy cord in my car trunk to keep the gate open. The interior bedroom and bathroom is very small and does not allow any room for much storage. The 'rules' i was given about laundry and linens, upon arrival and regarding departure, made me uncomfortable. I couldn't fully relax and felt like my stay was overly monitored. The back patio is very nice. The front area gravel rock was difficult to walk on. One of the plastic chairs in the front yard was broken at the arm rest. Overall, I felt like I was in a 'dump' and was disappointed with the home. It was close to the beach and the time to walk there was accurate per the posting. It is best to accommodate only 1 or 2 persons. 4 Persons would be extremely cramped. I would not recommend this home to any vacationers, unless you are looking for cheap accommodations with very little amenities.

The location was awesome. Cute house and yard, however, it was a bit smaller and 4 adults would be a tight squeeze as there’s only one full bed and a pull out couch. The bedding wasn’t the cleanest and there were ants in the kitchen. Overall wonderful stay.

Great cozy home

We had a wonderful stay here. 5 minute walk to the sandy beach and a 7 minute walk to downtown where there are restaurants and ice cream! I recommend sleeping on the sofa bed as it’s a queen. The main bed is a twin and a little small. Besides that, the place is great and super quite. Perfect for a couple or a family of 3-4. 20 minute drive to the boardwalk.

Great location near the beach. Wonderful yards and close to restaurants and shoppers center. We enjoyed the opportunity of having a BBQ, however we never got to it ☺️ We would definitely book again.

Very private and quiet. Easy access, no stairs. Can park the car right in front of the door. Spacious kitchen, dining area, and cozy living room. Great central heating system. Plenty of hot water and good water pressure. Incredible response from mgmt team each time we had a concern. The handheld shower head was very thoughtful and much appreciated. The place could use a deep cleaning. The double bed was very comfortable for 1 person or 2 small people. Really loved the quilt on that bed. Extremely cozy. The couch comes out into a queen bed. It's comparable to a very thick futon. You have to like sleeping on a hard surface. Really close to the beach. Make sure to visit the fabulous thrift store that is nearby and supports many local charities.

Petite maison en bois agréable, 1 chambre + 1 canapé lit dans le salon, bien placée dans un quartier calme, proche de l'océan. La terrasse est grande et permet de bien profiter de l'air doux. Le temps étant humide, une couverture en plus n'aurait pas été de refus plutot que de chauffer la maison. Il y a aussi de la place pour garer la voiture dans la propriété.

Simple and Cozy

This place is great. The back patio is really nice. You can hear the ocean and the beach is close. The propane grill out back made cooking grilled tritip, lamb, and salmon easy. Would definitely do it again. The bed isn’t huge but we just got closer as a result.

Truly amazing stay!!

To start off, the home is beautiful! Very quaint and eclectic, the outside patio is magical and so relaxing - with an outdoor shower to boot. The interior is clean, a tad small but very comfortable… definitely keeping it on the books for a future trip.

Pictures don’t do this place justice!

Cute cottage- property is clean and though the furniture maybe a bit worn, it all goes well with the vibe. Property presents a lot better in person. Property has everything you need including recently Renovated kitchen and bathroom and large backyard area. Proximity to Marianne’s ice cream and beach a plus!! Only qualm would be the humidity or wetness coming up from the floor. It makes your feet feel sticky and very cold.

A wonderful stay

My family and I really enjoyed our stay. Most definitely would like to stay again. The TV is a tad small but I'm on vacation so we didn't use it much. There's only 1 bed and bedroom. Was a tad surprised by that. Thought there was two. The sofa bed is really uncomfortable so bring lots of blankets and pillows. The coffee maker needs to be replaced. Didn't use it. A tad old. So I was sad to have to get hot coffee elsewhere everyday. Beautiful outside and plenty of room to have people over to entertain. Staff was so pleasant to talk to and were so helpful!! I hope to use this company again as they have many properties. Thank you guy's for a wonderful stay!

Great time

Great location and cute house with a great indoor setup and backyard patio space. It was a really great space. The only two things that could have been better is it could have been cleaner (rugs and sofa/pillows in particular) and have some food staples (salt, pepper, garlic salt, foil, etc) and some basic kitchen tools, ie a paring knife….otherwise it was fab. Would stay again.

Nice and quiet

We enjoyed our recent stay at the house. Nice quiet neighborhood and within walking distance of the beach down some stairs. We really enjoyed the backyard and good weather. A nice relaxing stay. It just needs a bigger bed. We have a queen at home and are used to it, and the full was a touch small for us. We'll be back.

The property didn’t live up to other reviews

The beach house in Aptos was not true to many of the reviews I read. The much touted beach stairs were a block away but hidden. They were a long set of wooden old stairs coming down a big hill with patches of dirt connecting them and not for me. So we ended up driving to a couple of other beaches. Marianne’s ice cream and market were not 2 blocks from the house as some reviews stated-again, we had to drive there. The house was old, which was fine, but desperately needed some upgrading. There were no screens on the kitchen, bathroom and bedroom windows. They needed to be opened as it got stuffy and musty with showers and after a day closed up. The bedroom was small-only fit a double bed (not a queen as it says in description) so we only used it to sleep. Also the comforter on the bed was ripped and old. Only 1 blanket for the couch bed and they were cold. Most cupboards in the kitchen, bathroom, hall, bedroom and living room were very dusty and dirty and filled with lots of the owner’s stuff. The laundry room was hard to use with old beach things packed in. The dryer vent was packed with lint and needs to be thoroughly cleaned. (Fire) We ended up putting all our food in the refrig and on the table instead of cupboards. I wanted a smoothie and found a blender in the tall kitchen cupboard; it was disgustingly dirty, sticky, and old. The whole house felt like that-windowsills dirty, (really only bothered us in bathroom and kitchen), the kitchen and bathroom rugs had stains, and were worn & dirty, so we took them out and used a towel. The tiny tiny bathroom had a small stand, but it was dirty, so we lived entirely out of suitcases for the week. The backyard is lovely and private with clematis and grape vines on 3 sides; I spent most of my time out there. A long table had wicker chairs but three were broken when we arrived so we used others. They were broken before our stay which made me wonder how often anyone checks on things. Two nights, while sitting out front and in back, a skunk and a raccoon joined me. They left, but be aware of visitors in late afternoon. The tenants were to wash all dishes and put them away before leaving. With the lack of attention to the house, we decided to wash any dishes before we used them. Maybe the cleaning service could do this. The internet wasn’t working for a lot of the time we were there. There was an outdoor shower but it was cold. With lots of other rentals to get, I’m sure we won’t come here again. 😔
