Great hostal 10/10 recommend! The view from the common area is stunning. It’s very cozy vibes every night there’s a bonfire. Great restaurant with amazing breakfast and dinner options. Safe area to walk around as well, it’s approx a 5 minute walk to the main plaza. It’s the perfect getaway!!

The place was clean the location was stunning the view was incredible, the general vibe was social, and they had fun activities, the kitchen was large but lacking basic equipment like a toaster, knifes, forks, cooking utensils and pans, and they had a really early strictly enforced curfew of 10pm, which was literally lights out.

All of the staff at Viajero were incredibly kind and helpful. Their ability to speak fluent English made everything so easy. The property offered good food and drink, and also some great activities. We arrived early in the morning the day of our checkin and the staff was very accommodating, offering that we take a nap in hammocks, as we had travelled all night from Medellìn to get to Salento. Upon arrival, the breathtaking view of the surrounding nature is soothing and mesmerizing. Our room was clean and spacious. The staff was kind enough to rush breakfast service even though we got to the in-house restaurant a bit late for breakfast before beading to the Cocora Valley. At night, there are stunning sunsets and a warm atmosphere by the bonfire. I recommend you stay at this hostel if you visit Salento as it is also very nicely located - at a walking distance of all dining options and amenities.

Ok hostel for a few days

Hostel is a bit if a walk from bus station if you have heavy suitcases/backpacks, and up an incline. Hostel itself is ok, although can be cheaper for what is offered. No free coffee/tea or towels. Bathrooms are often dirty. It is ok for a few days.

Amazing staff and comfortable rooms

I had a wonderful two-night stay at Viajero Salento Hostel in July 2021. The property is lovely and located less than a 10-minute walk from Salento's central square. My private room was lovely with a comfortable bed and a patio with an incredible view of the beautiful landscape. The real showstopper, though was the staff. They went out of their way to make me feel welcome and cared for, from check-in to check-out. Just one example of the staff's great service: they prepared my breakfast at seven on my check-out day even though breakfast usually doesn't start until eight. I'd highly recommend staying here.

Unfortunately my passport was stolen on the bus from Armenia to Salento, but the staff were extremely helpful to assist me with getting it back. They worked all day to help translate and arrange pickup and delivery of the stolen passport from the thief who wanted money in return. The hostel has a great vibe, a beautiful view, good breakfast, and warm showers! Highly recommend!
