Good stay

We chose Samuels to stay at as a family because it was close to the things we wanted to do. It was clean, quiet, and comfortable, and I appreciated the daily housekeeping. I thought the hotel would have better views for the price, but as we weren’t at the hotel much during the day that was fine. The majority of the staff were great and kind to my kids. However, I have anaphylaxis due to a nut allergy and was a bit concerned when I saw the breakfast buffet had several nut items. I asked the person at the front desk if she could tell me what had nuts and what didn’t, and she shrugged and said it would be hard to guess. It might be helpful in the future, given many people have food allergies or sensitivities these days, to make a list of allergens for the items served seeing as the breakfast was the exact same the 3 days we were there. Luckily I was able to find enough to eat without nuts and didn’t have a reaction from any cross-contamination.

Excellent little "European Boutique" Gem

Staff was welcoming and pleasant, lobby was serene, welcoming and cool on a a very hot day! So refreshing! Check in quick and easy. Room was clean and well appointed with the little touches that made it feel boutique as advertised-toiletries, flowers, nicely stocked mini fridge which had reasonable costs for items. Bathroom area/shower was spacious. Fireplace and TV would be cozy for a winter visit. We had the "village view" and there was not traffic noise once the door was closed, it was not an issue at all. Lovely grounds to sit or take a walk if you wanted. European style breakfast was delicious and complimented the boutique atmosphere of the hotel. Very conveniently located 1km outside of Goderich, it was easy to spend the day at the beach, visit the market in the square and have dinner out and not feel like we were in the car alot. Would definitely recommend and return!

The property was beautiful. More food optons at the property could benefit it. Also some sort of small counter to table in the bathroom to put your toiletries on would be handy. I do understand the washrooms are wheelchair accessible. The smart tv was appreciated. And the mini patio was ideal for quiet evenings outside your room.

This gorgeous little hotel in nature was perfect for a weekend getaway to Goderich Ontario! My husband and I enjoyed our river-view room as we love nature and were able to meditate on our mini patio in the backyard of the property. The unique and cozy decorations made the boutique stay enjoyable and memorable. We really enjoyed the European-style breakfast in the adorable mini dining area in the morning. The little chocolates were also a nice treat for when we checked into our room!! We would definitely come back and stay at Samuel's again and we will for sure be recommending this hotel to all of our friends and family that go out the way!!!
