I cancelled my stay with The Showboat to stay at The Claridge Hotel from August 1, 2025 - August 9, 2025. I booked two queen sized beds, received to full size bed. My shower still had sand in it from the previous people that stayed in our room. For four people we were given 2 towels and two wash clothes, when I asked for clean ones I was told there isn't any, I did get ONE from a male maid, but that's it. No more clean towels our entire trip, if I wanted more soap or shampoo we had to ask for it, no clean bedsheets for 8 days, no maid service, no one took out the garbage. We basically had to clean the entire room ourselves, with limited supplies. I had to buy washcloths and towels so my family could properly bathe themselves. There was no dresser for us to put our clothes in - not even hangers in the closet. Our coffee machine worked when it wanted to. The starbucks downstairs was closed more times than it was open. When I checked in it took 1.5, my room keys kept deactivating themselves no matter where I had them, was told to not put in wallet or by my phone- and it still deactivated. I went to the lobby 3 times in one day over the course of 4 hours. I called the lobby to request more towels or even soap, no one would put up the phone. Clumps of black hair floating around the pool and in the water, food floating in the pool, a dead cockroach,someone tried getting into our room twice one morning, scared my kids- so much more but not enough room on here.

I’ve stayed here in the past and always thought it was good, especially because it’s close to the boardwalk but this time my stay wasn’t pleasant. There was a stain on my bed that I took pictures of that should’ve been seen by staff easily. Waiting for an elevator would take up to 10-20mins. And the room was cleaned up after my first night but we had no towels and had to wait about 45mins for towels to shower. I won’t be staying there ever again.

I like the Claridge but it's falling far behind the other hotels in terms of upkeep. In my room the TP holder in the bathroom was partially torn off the wall, and one of the hinges on the refrigerator section of the TV cabinet was broken so the door would sort of fall open. That at the super slow elevators make this place less appealing than it should be.

The staff was knowledgeable and nice. The room was clean and very basic. Only 2 of the 5 elevators work. We had to wait one hour, in the hallway, to get an elevator from our floor to the lobby up in check out.

Good location and quieter than casino hotels. Good rooftop bar and Italian restaurant, good central boardwalk location walkable to all spots, but elevator was so slow and backed-up we had to walk 20 flights of stairs to leave the property.

Unfortunately our first stay here was not enjoyable! We were really excited to stay here from pictures and being our first time in AC with the kids. We did a later check in as we were enjoying the beach which was super close to the hotel right on the board walk, which was convenient. When going to check in thinking if I checked in an hour later then everyone else we would have a fast check-in…NOOOOO!! We waited almost two hours to check in, people were standing out of line cutting because their rooms had not been ready for hours. Now Tasha at the front was very helpful and thankfully got us a room soon as we checked-in. When we got to the room it was very spacious but the bathroom door did not close all the way, the beds were more like twin size beds. My husband is very tall and when we asked for a wheeled bed just to give the kids more space they refused even thought I was ready to pay and was told that we could get a bed up to us. We needed more blankets as I’m always cold and my husband is always hot I was told they had no clean laundry from the towels to the sheets!!! NOTHING!! And no time frame. Now parking to get in the hotel the floor coming up from the parking lot was a VERY PUNGENT PEE SMELL HORRIBLE!! Besides the help of Tasha. The hotel was horrible can’t say I enjoyed my stay at all. I’m so happy I only booked one night, I couldn’t have done a min more.

This was our 2nd stay. The hotel staff is very attentive and nice. Both times the rooms we stay in were large and had a great view of the ocean. The rooftop restaurant Vue had great drinks and appetizers. The Restaurant on the 6th floor The Twenties had a really delicious breakfast and we loved we didn’t have to go far. Unfortunately the 2nd time around we had issues with waiting for the elevators and at times had to use the stairs. Overall our stay went very well.

Location was good to get around the boardwalk. This is an older property, with limited updates. Decent average rooms. Rooftop bar was a great time, with friendly staff and great views, plus happy hour. The green park space between the hotel and beach has a lot of “vagrants lounging.” They have an indoor pool, basic, wasn’t clean-very cloudy when we attempted to go so bailed. Rather be on the beach. Be warned there are 23 floors, 5 elevators…be prepared to wait and wait for your elevator. Some floors appear to have beginnings of remodel…most of rooms and halls are carpeted :-x but did see some floors with tiles. Decent for the price.

The beds and pillows were absolutely amazing! That’s the best we’ve ever slept at a hotel! Plus very nice Samsung TVs with decent remotes, we’ve had way worse elsewhere, so you appreciate it if you know what I’m talking about… clean rooms and plenty of water pressure. All in all I give it two thumbs up and it was very reasonably priced so we will be back in the future!
