Improvements to the current stay

I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn City Hotel in Auckland, and while there were some positive aspects, there were also several disappointments that affected my overall experience. First, the room was clean and well-maintained, which is always a plus. However, there was an unpleasant smell in the shower that detracted from the comfort of the stay. It would be great if the hotel could address this issue to enhance the experience for future guests. The food at the hotel was tasty, but I was surprised to find that there were no options available on the kid’s menu. When we ordered food for our children, we were charged the standard adult portion. If I hadn’t noticed this on the bill, it would have gone unaddressed, which is not ideal for families traveling with kids. Additionally, several drinks from the menu were unavailable. This led to the inconvenience of having to upgrade to a bottle and mix it ourselves, which was not the experience we anticipated. Breakfast was another letdown. The selection was limited, and the quality did not meet expectations. It felt quite poor and lacking in flavor, which was disappointing given the importance of a good start to the day. In summary, while the cleanliness of the room was commendable, the issues with the shower smell, lack of a kid’s menu, unavailable drinks, and unsatisfactory breakfast left much to be desired. I hope the hotel can improve on these areas for a more enjoyable stay.

I stayed 4 nights, it was my birthday, the staff at the reception was very nice, friendly and helpful. Staff in the breakfast area were not so friendly and helpful, even though, my order was made by the staff at front desk and when I tried to explain that my order was made 24 hours in advance, the staff pretended that she did not understand what i was saying, I tried for about 5 minutes explaining that my breakfast order was made by the reception staff. The cacausian male on the floor stepped in and advised her to go into the kitchen and ask the Chef. The cacausian male was very nice and friendly the females in the breakfast area were not. one female staff keep telling me that the chef don't be onsite, which was ridiculous but when i walked away she consented to a request from another guest and give her a number to hold while her request is being prepared, they were looking at faces. I would stay there again, great place to stay and location is great. Regards Mark G

Everything was perfect! I have low scored the cleaners because our room has never been dusted or hovered. A part from that everything has been perfect! Great breakfast. Spotless buffet. All waiting staff very efficient use clean as you go, and they are very helpful! I also want to thank Pam from the reception this morning as she helped me so kindly to contact our shuttle service even if I already had checked out. She also was very helpful sorting my room key as I was up and down all the lifts trying to get to my floor. Thank you Pam. Please acknowledge the fact that Pam has helped in such a calm and friendly way, when I was so stressed.
