We stayed two nights at the Homewood Suites for the Austin F1 Grand Prix. Check-in was smooth, but our room had issues. It was the only room without a number; the door number was on the floor. The bathroom toilet was running with condensation, and the handle kept sticking. There was blue painters tape on the walls, likely for mounting pictures or paint retouch. The shower water was cold despite running it for 10 mins. The coffee machine was dirty, there were no pots, pans, trash can or dish soap in the kitchen. I called the front desk, but no one answered. I walked over and no one was there but they eventually showed up. I explained everything to the attendant. They said we had the last room, no other rooms were available. Said they were in the middle of a renovation and admitted we got a room that wasn't finished yet. They said there were no showers in the gym or pool area. No engineer was available at night, but they’d fix it before we left in the morning. Morning came and it had not been fixed. Attendant said go eat breakfast and then they'd get us a shower to use. After eating we went to a room just to shower, then had to get our belongings. Attendant called & asked us to move to a third room that came available. We rushed to move our stuff and then leave. We left for the race at 10:30 am, 1.5 hrs later than we planned due to hotel delays. We missed all the opening ceremonies we wanted to see and had limited time to find seats. The delays heavily impacted our experience.
