Cute design… retro… industrial. Staff are all friendly… chill vibe. A/C blower motor in room sounded like an overloaded clothes washer on spin cycle… given the presence of ear plugs and a white noise machine in the room, the noise level is apparently known to the hotel. Guests should also be aware of the adjacent dog day care facility and be prepared for the early AM barking. All in all, we would stay again but we would definitely request a room AWAY from the doggie day care and one with a quiet a/c system.

Best location and staff

Our stay was easy! It’s easy to park and the valet is amazing in hoe he helps you navigate the check in and where to go. Check in is easy. The staff in bar where your free champagne awaits is so fun! The location of the property is the best! Crossing lake on Lamar can be busy but you are in a lovely area. Love the relaxing pool and property. The bed was comfortable! All positives give it 12 stars! I wish the bathroom lighting was done by me. It’s so bright! Haha. As in any hotel not all rooms are equal so if you face the dog park area you will hear barking during the day but not at night….so not an issue for us. I would prefer to face Juliet , a fun bar across street.

Peaceful in the city

Unusual decor reminds one of a spa swim club. Interesting to learn that this was one a place where visiting carpenters stayed, hence the name. We had a private balcony looking into the branches of a large pecan tree. We loved every aspect of our room. And nearby Barton Springs Rd. has lots to offer!
