Older hotel with a lot of charm, but the shower kept going from freezing to scolding hot in a second without changing anything. The restaurant service is nice. Very attentive during breakfast, kept asking if we needed anything, or helped us with things. Breakfast had a good variety. Generally very sweet personnel.

The property is located on the outskirts of town so there's little audible traffic noise. The hotel is quaint and typically German in style. The only reason I didn't give it an excellent rating was that it lacks a lift to the 1st floor which may be an issue for guests with various mobility problems.

Myself, a german living abroad and my family, seasoned travellers to Germany for several years felt a great sense of positive nostalgia when we stayed over at the Hotel Schnehagen. The rooms were clean and roomy, good size bathrooms and beds. The style of furniture reminded us all of the German hotels of past years, in a very positive, genuine way. The food in the hotel restaurant threw us back into the kitchen of my grandmother, featuring genuine well cooked german food. Simple, easy but so so tasty. Wonderful to have been able to enjoy the dishes made by the chef. We will stay again at the Hotel Schnehagen, no doubt about it.

The bed mattress smelled from something not so nice. The toilet clogged and shower did not drain. No sorry but this stay did not elevate any feelings more then just want to leave. Sorry.
