Brilliant cottage

Just a short 2 minute drive from hook Norton, beautiful cottage with large enclosed garden. Lovely furnishings and log fire to keep warm and a bottle of wine as a gift. Great value for money in the area for 4 people and a dog. Thank you for a great stay!

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy
Great place, the only thing that we wish is that the check in was earlier that 5pm and that on a Sunday would allow more than 45 as a late check out of 10am.

Lovely Cottage

Very comfortable cottage in a great location for visiting towns and villages. A large garden which our dog enjoyed. You are beside a road but minimal noise when inside. Nice to have soft towels too. The only criticism is the bathroom door which does not close properly, it was OK for us but would be awkward if two couples stayed. Thank you for the wine and biscuits. Can highly recommend The Swan at Ascott under Wychwood for excellent food. The Wildlife Park is dog friendly and so worth visiting - discount if you prebook.

Wonderful Cottage

Wonderful cottage in a lovely location. Cottage came with plenty of loo rolls etc and the bottle of wine and biscuits were a real treat. I wouldn't say you could walk into the village as there is no path and cars travel quite fast. Even though the cottage is next to the road I really didn't notice the road noise. Claire the property Manager was super efficient and helpful. Would definitely stay at the cottage again Thank you

Lovely cottage just outside Hook Norton

Lovely cottage great location and checking into it was very easy. The garden was large and fenced all the way around so perfect if you have a dog. I thought it was a bit expensive for a 3 night stay but we enjoyed our stay.

Lovely cottage

Really well decorated and lovely cottage to stay in, everything we needed plus a great garden space for the kids to play in. It's really close to the village but you can't walk there. Would definitely recommend for a comfortable stay and close proximity to great places in the area.

Lovely short stay

Had a lovely last minute 2 night stay. The cottage is in a great location allowing is to easily explore the local area. We also visted Oxford which was a nice trip out. The accomodation suited us perfectly with a good sized secure garden for the dog, which she appreciated! Only slight grumble was the second bedroom wasn't made up into two singles as requested so my teens had to share which didn't go down well with them! Some kitchen spray to wipe down the sides and maybe some bbq coals and lighter would have been a bonus. A nice touch was the milk, cotswolds biscuits and a nice bottle of wine. Would definitely consider this accomodation again if we were to return.

Fabulous cottage

Great cottage, well located just out of the village. Nicely furnished, well equipped kitchen, and with great enclosed garden for the dog. Totally let down by the condition of the main bed which was so soft it was almost impossible to sleep. Please consider replacing it - there were comments in the visitor book about it too.

A very nice and comfortably cottage just outside Hook Norton.

The cottage (1 Manor Farm) is a semi-detached cottage just opposite the house in which the owner(s) are living. It is just a mile outside Hook Norton and there are beautiful surrounding of farmland. The cottage is well equipped, good beds, kitchen and shower. Living and dining room are good. The garden is mainly grass, large and enclosed by fences. If you’re fond of walking there are limited possibilities direct from the cottage. The road alongside the cottages is a busy road and no footpaths. So use a car to drive to Hook Norton or other suitable places for walking.

Relaxing stay

After a bad start due to the fact that the previous occupants had left the house in a disgraceful state and the ladies who do the cleaning had been delayed due to circumstances beyond their control we had a great stay. The property manager sorted things out very quickly and from then on we cannot find fault with anything. The property is in a beautiful spot close to the village and has good parking. There is everything you need to cook meals if you want, a large dining room and a nice comfortable lounge, the bedrooms are large with comfortable beds and a brilliant shower. There is the added bonus of a large private secure garden. All in all a good place to stay for a break. Would recommend.

Excellent accomodation

First time we have visited anywhere in the Cotswolds. Very pleasant and near to Chipping Norton. Hook Norton is a lovely village. The house is just lovely and the owners make you feel very welcome with a baked cake, wine and milk and even poo bags. Everything you need is in the kitchen.Very large garden and patio area ideal and safe for our dog Boomer. The only downside is the road next to the house which can be a little noisy but it’s not all the time and you do get used to it. Otherwise top marks. Will definitely visit again thank you.

We enjoyed our stay

We enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It must have been renovated only a few years ago, to a good standard with a lovely kitchen, underfloor heating downstairs, and a wood burner (which meant we were lovely and warm in the evenings). My son in particular really liked the modern feel to the cottage. I note that other people have said that the beds were soft - these must have been replaced because the beds we slept in were firm and comfortable. And as for the road near the cottage, it is not busy in the sense that there is a lot of traffic. There are not that many vehicles that go down it, it's just that they travel at some speed when they do. It didn't bother us or impact on our enjoyment of the place. And we walked into Hook Norton a couple of times along the road. There is no pavement but we just walked facing the traffic and when a car came it would travel round us. I would recommend this place.
