A Nice Stay in Banff

The bed was very comfortable: firm but conformable. The room was spacious. There was a lot of renovation going on around the property, but everything was easy to get around. We got in early and we were able to park our car underneath and go out and walk around until we were notified of our room being ready; which I received notice 30 minutes earlier than the advertised check-in time of 4:00pm. The location can't be better: very walkable to the main, central area of town, and easy walking distance to the Bow River trails. I recommend this hotel to anyone who enjoys basic comforts.

Banff park lodge is in a convenient location. You can walk to Banff town and all the restaurants. The major drawback is NO air conditioning. Our trip was in July and the room was uncomfortably hot at night. This was not fun after a long day of hiking. The staff said they had climate control but no A/C. The solution was to open the balcony window and deal with all the street noise and train. Other properties have air conditioning. I regret my decision in staying at Banff park lodge because lack of A/C and unhelpful concierge.

The front staff and concierge were very helpful. The location is excellent. Close to the town and the Bow river walks. They have bike rentals for exploring the bike paths which are excellent. The room we had was basic with 2 queen beds. The beds were very soft which none of us liked, but that may be our biases. We ate dinner one night in the hotel and was surprised how good the food was. We didnt love the hotel. Felt for a nightly price of 600-650 it was kinda like a Best Western. Also when it got warm there is no way to cool the room down. They did bring us a fan which helped…but again for the price I think I’d try another hotel in town…
