Room for Improvement

This hotel has a very nice lobby with nice restaurants and welcoming staff. It gives the impresesion of a high-end hotel upon arrival. Unfortunately, the room had some unsightly signs of wear and tear, and the lighting system in the room was defective. There was a visible stain on the carpet and a crack in the bathroom sink. I am not sure I would stay here again, unless they renovated and upgraded the guest rooms.

Proximity to airport can’t be beat. Easy shuttle to and from the airport. Good dining options. The room itself left much to be desired. Its decor was dated and it had a very misty smell that didn’t go away when the AC went on. Was only there for 6 hours before a long flight so didn’t raise the issue.

Public areas all good, check in desk is bizarrely placed as far away as possible from shuttle drop off which is mildly annoying. Room was in poor condition, very smelly, noisy air conditioning. Well overdue for renovation. I’m guessing proximity to the airport and Bangkok traffic will keep guests coming, no matter what.

I had reservations but, waited for over 40 minutes and there were only two persons in front of me. Check in was terrible especially in a hotel that caters to tired travelers. The room was fine but, furniture was was old,chipped & stained. Also, there should be signage that slippers in room are not complimentary as they are in other hotels. All in all convenience of hotel was wonderful for early morning flight or one night stay.

The room was filled with cockroaches and insects. The place was clearly not cleaned at all. This is not acceptable at all. Our three year old daughter was uncomfortable and couldnt sleep. It was filthy.

Every time my wife and I visit our Thai family, we stay at the Novotel Suvarnabhumi Airport Hotel, recently acquired by Hyatt. The shuttle to and from the airport is incredibly convenient and reduces the stress of departing Thailand, especially for early morning flights. The staff is professional and efficient. There were always interesting art or cultural displays in the magnificent lobby in the past, but that doesn’t seem to occur now. The rooms are OK, but, in general, the hotel has been showing wear and tear over the years and needs renovations. Hopefully, Hyatt will invest in restoring the hotel to what it was like 15 years ago. The restaurant and its limited menu have always underwhelmed me. However, there is a buffet that we’ve never tried.
