Our stay at the Cotton House was exceptional. From the moment you step inside, the architecture tells a story—an elegant blend of historic grandeur and contemporary design that feels refined and inviting. The building’s origins are beautifully honored, with sweeping staircases and soaring ceilings. These preserved details make every corner feel special. The hotel’s festive holiday displays and soundtracks brought a sense of warmth and joy, creating an atmosphere that felt celebratory without being overdone. That festive spirit came alive on NYE at Batuer, the hotel’s restaurant. Alongside a carefully planned chef’s menu, multiple live performances kept the evening energized. Guests were also invited to take part in the beloved Spanish tradition of eating the 12 grapes at midnight; sharing that moment together—surrounded by music, laughter, and celebration—made the night feel both culturally authentic and wonderfully communal. What truly sets the Cotton House apart, though, is the people. Every team member was friendly, fun, and genuinely enthusiastic about making our stay memorable. It’s rare to find a hotel where service feels this joyful. In every sense, the Cotton House delivered an unforgettable experience. It’s a hotel with style and heart—and a place we loved staying at and can’t wait to return to.

The hotel design is charming and it is a great location. The hotel operation leaves a lot to be desired. First, the technology at check in wasn’t working so it delayed unnecessarily. Second, they placed a hold of €200 PER DAY on my card for incidentals. Third the combined wet room while seemingly a good idea was a slipping hazard. Fourth the key app on the phone worked fine on the doors but never at in the elevators to allow access. Finally given that everything is late in Barcelona, if you are going to lock the front door you need to be more responsive when guests return—no buzzer and we had to wait awhile to be let in.

Best 5 star hotel in Barcelona

The Cotton House was the perfect stay for our first time in Barcelona. We fell in love with the neighborhood around Cotton House as well as the staff there, shout out to Fatima and Federico! The room was beautiful with gorgeous views of the city and they made sure that my family was comfortable and attended to at every turn. Every time we visit Barcelona, we will be staying at the Cotton House.

Not sure what might have happened in one years time but house keeping is certainly an issue. Staff at times seemed indifferent and last but not least the room we had is in need of new furniture. Tables, desk severely scratched, sofa bed needs to be replaced. But, for me the best was who ever the genius was that a good idea to put the bathroom door right in front of the toilet and lets not forget the door stop in front of the toilet so for those os us that need to use the bathroom in the middle of the night good luck with your toes🙈

I loved the cotton house hotel, I recommend it and would stay there again. The staff were very friendly and the concierge was fantastic. The terrace / bar / restaurant area were all amazing. The room has everything you need, I think maybe the only thing is that the place needs a bit of an update, and in my opinion the lobby area could be a bit bigger. But again, it was a great stay and loved all the history and themes of the design!
