The hotel is located perfectly in the middle of the city and the staff were extremely friendly on check in. We were given a Basel travel card for the duration of our stay which was really appreciated. The room was a great size and was very comfortable and clean.

Great hotel in a the best location. Our room was small but very well appointed and had a balcony and a nice view from the top floor. Service was smooth and friendly. Gluhwein and biscuits are complimentary at Christmas time in the lobby. This hotel was the best value in its category during Christmas period. I would go back.

Fabulous location on the edge of the old town. Great staff. Comfortable bed, but only dim lighting in the room. Also, in our “Executive Room”, there was a weird slightly frosted, glass panel between the bedroom and the bathroom. It didn’t appear to serve any useful purpose (both rooms had windows, so didn’t need the light)- and I’m not sure that I really wanted to see what my roommate is doing in the bathroom when I was in the bedroom. It also meant that you couldn’t turn on the light in the bathroom without disturbing your sleeping partner in the bedroom. Breakfast was ok (once you get over the sticker shock of Swiss prices) - with fruit, muesli, cheese, meat, croque monsieur, crepes, lemon cake, etc.

We were able to check in an hour early as our room was ready. This was much appreciated as we flew all night and part of the next day to get there. The front desk was exceptional in advising us on directions and how to use the trams in Basel. The room was very well appointed.

This hotel is in a very convenient location. It is very quiet despite being in the centre. Loads of choices of restaurant around and very close to the river. The service is fine but could be a bit friendlier.
