The place is gorgeous, the staff are polite, the rooms are well kept. My only gripes are with the breakfast, and the pillows. With the exchange, I basically paid 60 for undercooked eggs and 2 pieces of bacon. Maybe I’m just foreign and that’s how they do eggs here, but it wasn’t edible. And the pillows are feather and I am a side-sleeper, which makes it very difficult to get comfortable. All of that is forgiven due to the amazing heated floors in the bathroom, stood in there with bare just to feel cozy a few times.

AVOID

Avoid like the plague. Horrendous hotel with even worse customer service. Where to begin.. Hotel pride themselves as 5 star. This hotel is nowhere near 5 stars. We were initially upgraded to another room, to which we were very thankful. However, the room flooded and soaked our belongings, causing damage. We were then put into another room late in the evening (as we were going out for food). To our horror the next morning, we realised we had been sleeping in dirty bedding and there was food in the fridge from previous occupants. The frige had not been replenished. There were other issues, especially around breakfast time and staff. Cold toast, tea looked like it had been standing there for some time, and the tea bag had split. This happened on each teapot given. However I will say breakfast itself from the chef was fabulous. Since an email has been sent to the hotel with our grievance with no response. The hotel thought it was acceptable to provide us with a bottle of champagne (which we do not like) and a £30 off our tab to rectify things. Luckily, we do have photos and videos to show. Our stay was meant to be peaceful and relaxing. I came home unwell and very annoyed that I had spent a small fortune (which I wouldn't have minded if we had enjoyed our stay). It is absolutely not worth the money to stay here. The only positive I have to say compliments to the chef and the catering staff at the night we had a meal booked. It was outstanding.

Excellent facilities & staff but noisy!

Having the spa water directly to my hotel bath was a luxury and a worthwhile experience. Only downside was the noise in the street which ruined a night in a very comfy bed. Unfortunately a listed building so windows can not be changed to double or triple glazing.

Excellent all the way!

We were happy from the beginning until the end! We felt very welcome and were very happy throughout our stay. Our little ones were sad that they couldn’t go to the pool but they really enjoyed the room. The suite was perfect for my parents, our kids, my husband and I to share.
