I like the location in which is not far from the Forbidden city and Wangfujing pedestrian area. The metro is a walking distance. You can take line 8 or line 5. On the main street Dongsi, there are lots restaurants to choose. The apartment is excellent. Spacious. It is a quiet location.

Modern apartment hotel in the hutongs. We spent 9 nights there. It’s clean and comfortable, in a nice walkable area. It’s also very central. Helpful and friendly staff but they don’t all speak English. We managed to communicate using translation apps.

Spacious, accessible to local dining, local shops, fresh produce market (for tea, seasonal fruits etc). Love the Peking duck at 盛福年 (a stone throw away from Base) great service, good food at reasonable prices. So much so that we went thrice!!!

Property didn’t live up to expectations. Bathroom shower didn’t feel clean. Grouts were stained. Lighting in bathroom was not bright. AC did not function properly. The room was consistently 25-26 degrees Celsius every day. No sponge was provided for sink in kitchen although dish soap was provided. Laundry machine did not have translation card so had to translate via app. Pros: 2 water bottles provided daily. Staff were kind.
