A touch of class

Despite a rather indifferent start( our room wasn't ready at 3:15 for check-in ) this turned out to be a memorable stay. Our room on the 8th floor was tastefully furnished with excellent decor. Two comfortable lounge chairs and a fine size TV. The bed was huge and so comfortable. Bathroom again beautifully fitted with high quality toiletries supplied. A small crib might be the tea/ coffee tray which only had two small biscuits. Only one carton of water was supplied for a double occupancy room! The lift experience was novel and efficient. The Piano Bar was a real highlight and we indulged in excellent snacks there during our stay. It was such a restful and relaxing place to pass some time,enhanced by some beautiful piano playing on Sat night. It would unfair to single out any single staff member as all staff we encountered were polite, friendly and helpful. A slight issue was the thumping music we could hear late into Sat night.

The hotel was lovely but a fire alarm went off just before 4am which was quite distressing as I was woken up in a shock and had to get up and ready toeave the room. After about 5 minutes an announcement came through saying not to leave the hotel as it was not a real alarm. It left me quite tired for meetings the next day
