My recent stay at The Malone Hotel was unfortunately a significant letdown. I chose this hotel based on its reputation as a classic, traditional establishment near Queen's University, expecting a certain standard of quality and comfort. However, the reality was far from what was anticipated. Upon checking in, the first room we were assigned was in a state of disrepair. The carpets were noticeably dirty and covered in stains, the heating was non-functional, and to make matters worse, the toilet flush was broken. It was not the welcoming experience one would hope for. After repeatedly and insistently bringing these issues to the staff's attention, we were moved to another room. Unfortunately, this second room was not much of an improvement. Located in the attic, it felt like an afterthought. The carpets here were also stained, the window shades were broken, the phone wasn't working, and a table lamp was out. The room also lacked basic amenities like a microwave or other expected facilities. What compounded the frustration was the lack of service. Despite our repeated requests to clean the room and address the issues, no action was taken. The need to constantly follow up for basic services and a clean, functional room made the entire experience stressful and deeply disappointing. I had high hopes for The Malone Hotel, but sadly, my stay was defined by poor maintenance and a lack of attention to guest needs. It's clear this hotel is in desperate need of a major upgrade

Disappointed in checkout staff. Never asked how our stay was. When I mentioned the vanity light was still out, she abruptly said did you report it? In morning or afternoon? Also never got fan I asked for. After checkout she asked if I wanted a receipt. I replied yes and was told she would email it. After sitting in the lobby a bit, I ask to verify the email as I hadn’t received it. She abruptly said it could take 30 min. I never received the receipt.

The Hotel looks good from the outside and the lobby is very nice and clean restaurant was lovely and clean bright and spacious. Staff both in lobby and restaurant area excellent.

Having stayed at The Malone on several occasions I expected an enjoyable stay and once again it lived fully up to expectations in every department. The only issue that I would pick holes in is the fact that the excellent and very convenient car park to the rear of the property has been taken over by a car park operator and is no longer free. And as with many of these car park operators, they charge too much and the only way to pay is by downloading an annoying app and going through a procedure that one could really do without. Other than that gripe, which I will no doubt get over, we will certainly be back to stay again in this little gem of a property in the leafy University Area of South Belfast.

Relaxing stay at The Malone

Beautiful hotel, great ambiance, delicious food from the restaurant with generous portions. Great wine selection. One evening we ran late for dinner and the chef and hostess kept kitchen open for us!!! Many restaurants within walking distance and the city your bus stops right outside the hotel, it was the perfect way to spend a few days with my son before he left for university.
