Simple room, no amenities. Great location for walking to shopping,, funicular, fjord cruise and restaurants. The breakfasr has a lot of variety.

Breakfast was wonderful. A lot of options to choose from. We had to switch rooms 3 times. The 1st time - room was on the 5th floor(when we opened the bathroom it smelled so bad and there was pee left on the toilet and a sock under the bed. Room was a bit small. Second room was on the 6th floor way smaller than the 1st room so we didn't like it. The final room was on the 2nd floor - big one but the windows does not open up since window is facing the restaurant. I liked the heated floor of the bathroom. The front staff was kind enough to provide us with a fan to let the air circulate and make our room comfortable and cool. All in all I like this hotel. Close proximity to many sites, restaurants and transportation. A bit pricey but i think worth it.

Great location & nice hotel

Great location on the wharf, by all the shops and restaurants. The free Breakfast was really good and lots of options. Room was on 6th floor and was basic and ok, heating didn’t seem to work all the time but heated floor in bathroom was great for drying wet clothes. I would have preferred a kettle in the room rather than have to keep going to reception to get a hot drink every time & ask for milk, overal great stay.

Location, value, and breakfast

The room was small but usable, and reasonably priced. I felt I got what I paid for. Breakfast was very good, and the lication excellent. I would stay here again. We were very happy.

When we arrived early the gent on reception did not hesitate to check us in. The room was clean and the bed comfy. It was cleaned daily. The only improvement would be to provide tea / coffee making facility in the room. The bathroom was clean with a good shower. Breakfast was good with a choice of hot and cold items. Location was excellent.

In the City Center of Bergen. We had a great view. The room was tidy and clean. Beds were great. We had breakfast and the meal was just what we needed to start a long day. We had a quick drink at the bar when we came in late and the bartender , Pedro ,was welcoming.

The best things about this property were the location, the “classic” harbour view from my room, and the front desk staff (they were so kind and helpful)… But, everything else needs help. The cleaning staff were not at all thorough, the property seems to be in dis-repair and needing some serious TLC, the lobby restaurant area feels abandon, the hallways were dirty, no closet to hang cloths or safe for valuables in the room, no phone, the coffee maker did not work, and was never re-supplied by the room staff, the shower is wide open to the bathroom and floods the floor with each use, and the list goes on…If it wasn’t for the view and the front desk staff I’d have left after the first night. There are many better alternatives - do your homework.

Had it not been for the issues with cards accessing the room, i would have rated higher. We were there for 3 nights and had issues, reception said they were updating their system hence issues. Our entry card had to be reprogrammed daily. So not good...otherwise rooms were excellent, breakfast was really good and located was close to everything.

We wasnt advised that we needed to book in advance for the restaurant and we didnt find the staff very accommodating ,I looked at the menu a couple of weeks before and a dish that my son would eat was not available and was told it was an old menu they was no effort to help with alternative and we had to find some were else to eat which was very disappointing.

We stayed at Magic Hotel in Bergen and overall had a very good experience. The location is excellent — right by the harbour and the shopping district, and only about a 12-minute walk to Bergen train station, which was perfect for us when we did the Norway in a Nutshell tour. Our room was up on the top floor ("in the gods," as it felt!). It was comfortable and fine for our stay, though I had requested a view and unfortunately didn’t get one. Tea and coffee weren’t provided in the room, but facilities were available at reception, which was a useful alternative. One small concern was around the fire evacuation procedures. A fire alarm did go off during our stay, and while it turned out not to be serious, the communication about what was happening could have been clearer. That said, the hotel suited our needs very well, and with its convenient location, I’d recommend it to others visiting Bergen.
