This hotel is in the center of Bern about a 5 minute walk to the train station. We flew into Zurich and took a train to Bern and walked to the hotel. Very easy and convenient. Bern is a very walkable city and also has excellent public transportation so I do not recommend renting a car. Parking is difficult and it is hard to figure out which parking spaces are legal at all times or if you need a parking permit which is region specific. The hotel is nice and offers a great breakfast (especially the beautiful breads). Fresh coffee is available 24 hours a day. In the afternoons they had a self serve bar with a wide variety of wines, beers, cocktail makings and nonalcoholic beverages and with bar snacks which looked nice although we didn't make use of their offerings.

More than the bear necessities at the Hotel Baren

Very nice little room which is all I needed just for me. The bed was very comfortable. It was right next to the federal palace and an easy walk to the cathedral and clock tower. Perfect for what I wanted to see and do while I was in Bern. Happy to return here if I go back!

Clean room. Staffs are helpful and nice. Very convenient spot. I have got the roof top room and the window at the roof are just very very nice to get natural light from the sky. The toilet are massive with two sinks which is quite rare as in most hotel. Little downside is that the bed is a bit squeaky even with just body rotation but overall it is very good and I will recommend it.

We loved the location, the hotel itself was wonderful and very clean and the staff was friendly, helpful, welcoming and professional. It would have been perfect but the beds…twins put in king frame were HORRIBLE! 2/3 of the bed on both sides sloped outward, obviously from folks sitting on the sides of the beds that we were in a hole and could not sleep on1/3 of the bed. When we slept on our side our knees hit the bed frame and then surpassed it as the mattress was so compressed. My wife ended up with hip and back pain and slept just a few hours each night.

Great location , very central, convenient and walkable to all key attractions. The hotel is 10 mins from Bern train station, there are many shopping and restaurants/cafes options. The room is reasonably equipped and neat/tidy. The staff is very helpful.
