The myths of Northumberland are portrayed on the beams of the cottage with the Spindlestone legend also on the outside beams. One of a pair of cottages, Spindlestone was once the byre of a smallholding but is now delightfully comfortable accommodation for couples with a superb choice of activities nearby; hillwalking in the Cheviots, cycling on quiet local roads, climbing at the famous Kyloe Crags, fishing and golf. The historic walled town of Berwick-on-Tweed is 10 miles and Alnwick with its splendid castle and gardens, 22 miles. Explore the glorious coast or head inland to the Border towns and villages. Edinburgh and Newcastle are under an hour by train from Berwick. Shop, pub and restaurant 2 miles.
