Overall lovely stay staff very friendly efficient with prompt service. As a 4 star hotel a few things could be improved like a fridge in the room to keep the bottled water they provided cold, air conditioning but probably would be too expensive to fit due to the age of the building and paintwork here and there needed touching up. There was a problem checking in to the hotel as they asked us to pay again even though we had already paid. They said they would sort it on checkout but this could have worried some guests although we knew we were right so it didn’t bother us. Finally when we went to dinner and wanted to order a glass of wine they did not have any of the first choice of wine or the second choice and they didn’t have that many to choose from if you wanted to buy wine by the glass. After saying that we would definitely visit again and these are just minor pointers as constructive criticism to offer feedback. Thank you for a lovely stay and we will be back on the summer

Disappointing, does not deserve 4 stars

Hotel needs refurbishment. Not well maintained and overall impression was it tired, grubby and mouldy. Had booked a Garden View room but was given a room which had little view, driveway outside and deliveries to kitchen parked outside often. There was a noisy air conditioning unit outside our window. Carpets and general furnishings grubby. Carpet in our room did not fit to skirting which was chipped and dirty. Room lighting was poor with not lights near mirrors. Our room 18 was next to fire door and was frequently noisy. Window seat was damp. Under bed had not been cleaned; evidenced by dust and previous occupants tablets. No control of room/bathroom temperature. Was in a good location. We were put off having evening meals onsite due to mixed experience at breakfast. Certainly not a 4 star hotel. We would not stay again.

Nice, clean, well appointed room with kingsize bed. All staff were brilliant, happy, very helpful and responsive and their good teamwork was evident. The Wi-Fi worked well and the bar was well-stocked. Lovely surroundings and the field of Clydesdale horses in the neighbouring farm was delightful.

The staff, very polite and helpful. Serice in the dinning area for breakfast and evening meal excellent. Checking in and out very easy. Overall we had a lovely relaxing few days at the hotel and would recommend to anyone.

Absolutely amazing, what a gem of a find. Stayed in the pods and theyre so up to date and modern. Hot tub freshly filled for your stay under floor heating. The staff were so friendly and great. Couldn't recommend this place any higher.

Really lovely stay.

Spacious and comfortable room. Very friendly and helpful staff. We had a great evening meal at the hotel and breakfast was excellent. Just stayed one night en route to Scotland. Looks like a lovely area for walking.
