Excellent location on the harbour, i loved being able to fall aaleep listeing to the waves. Beautiful room, very clean and quiet. Lovely breakfast and friendly staff.
Amazing, we had a wonderful stay over lobster feast weekend. Would certainly return. Lovey hotel with amazing helpful staff, nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommended
Alles sehr gut. Schönes Zimmer (Dusche im Bad, schlecht benutzbar, da der Schlauch nicht frei ist. Sehr unangenehm). Sehr gutes Frühstück und ausgezeichnetes Nachtessen (frischer Fang: Sole, Lobster)
Stunning location and liked everything about the hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. The accommodation was very comfortable and the decor was very pleasing.
The restaurant was excellent. The staff were nice. But there was no water coming out of the taps at night. And one lamp in the room didn't work. but the room was very clean. Over all, it was a very nice stay.
Everything was just amazing... spent a little more than normal for this room and it was so worth it. The restaurant was amazing as well... and the location was unbeatable.
This was such a lovely little hotel in a stunning village. Enjoyed our stay so much and our room overlooked the harbour. The hotel was on the water with stunning views. Food was delicious and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Thank you!
The Red Lion is a unique hotel in a very beautiful location. Clovelly is lovely but I would recommend a maximum of 2 nights, and you’d best hope the weather is good as it would be limited fun in bad weather.
The food is good and eating outside on the harbor wall was lovely. The service is patchy and they don’t clean rooms currently (Covid regulations) which is a real shame, and it means no fresh towels etc. the breakfast tray is lovely, but again we left it outside our room and it wasn’t cleared for two days. All in all, a good experience and we would recommend to others. Clovelly is totally unique and picturesque.
Perfectly located hotel - right in front of the sea so we could watch the porpoises coming in with the evening tide. Beautiful family room - very spacious, clean and well decorated. The village is fantastic and well worth a visit.
This hotel has the most incredible location, being right on the harbour in picturesque Clovelly. It's an older building but well maintained and clean throughout. The room we had was in the main building, quite small for a double, but perfectly adequate for a short stay, with a good sized bathroom.
The views from the bedroom window are amazing and worth staying for them alone. An incredible vista of the harbour and surrounding sea and beach.
Breakfast was extra at £12.50 each. Good selection and well cooked, with friendly service from the waiting staff.
The road down to the hotel is windy and steep and it does feel as you re heading into the sea! Don't be put off though, it is totally worth it.
I would definitely return.
Excellent hotel in a stunning location! We stayed 2 nights with two young children, the staff were very helpful. We ate in the hotel both evenings & the food was very good. Will be staying agsin
Restaurant menu excellent though snug bar evening meal menu was limited. Down side is that boojing through hotels.com rather than direct meant breakfasts were not included in the price which meant we had an unexpected charge of £50. If this is the case with every booking, hotels.com will lose our custom/
Beautiful property in a stunning location. Our room was ground floor though with a view of the car park. Next time we will request a room on the first floor.
The Red Lion is amazing. The staff are incredibly welcoming and helpful, the service is exceptional. The position right on the harbour is perfect. I highly recommend the Red Lion, a stay here is really special, borne out by a number of returning honeymooners.
The food is amazing as is the gratitude not to have to walk back up hill through the village after it.
Amazing location: Clovelly is a very pretty village, and quite magical when empty of tourists in the evening. The staff are lovely, the food is great, the views from the bedroom and bathroom are fab. The only downside is the size of the room we had (extremely small with a double not king bed, little room for luggage) and the 2 steps down to the bathroom, which could be pretty unsafe in the dark. Also did not get any help with our luggage up and down stairs and over the cobbles in the car park. The road down to the hotel is very narrow, it's best to ask the hotel jeep to go up in front of you so you don't struggle with passing vehicles. Overall great stay but expensive for what it is.
We had a lovely stay. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and all Covid rules were followed. Our room was very comfortable and spacious. Staff were very helpful and friendly. We would definitely stay here again.
We absolutely loved our stay with the Red Lion Hotel in Clovelly. The service was exceptional - from the gentleman who helped direct us where to park our car (away from the stormy ocean), to the helpful woman at the front desk. We also really appreciated the staff at the restuarant within the hotel, who were exceptional, and made us smile with each interaction.
The location of this hotel cannot be beat - right on the seafront in Clovelly. It was pure magic! We happened to visit during the height of Storm Alex and the staff helped to set our minds at ease so that we could enjoy watching the spectacular display.
The room was huge, very comfortable, and extremely clean. The bedding was comfortable and luxurious, and we enjoyed the various amenities included - such as a nice warm hot chocolate while a storm raged outside.
