Good location right near the train station. Hotel itself is as you would expect for a holiday inn. Unfortunately, it was a little bit noisy even though we were on the sixth floor (construction outside). Also there was quite a bit of light coming through the curtains which made it difficult to sleep. Unfortunately, the fire alarm went off at the roundabout 8 am which thankfully was a false alarm. It meant that we had a very disjointed sleep.

The stay overall was ok. However, I didn’t appreciate that I was put on a floor that hadn’t been renovated even though I was staying there for a week. I eventually asked for a change of room and staff accommodated the request.

Excellent hotel

Although we had to wait for our room to be ready, we were asked if we wanted a different room but we were in no rush, we had an excellent stay. The staff were very polite and helpful, the room was lovely. I have stayed here for business in the past and was not disappointed then and was not disappointed this time! Highly recommend

TV disconnected and no remote control on arrival. Called 3 times to reception to get sorted, phone nevere answered When I reported it the following morning it was fixed on my return for the second night stay. Windows covered in mould...see pics

Fantastic hotel. Ignore the slightly dowdy facade, this hotel is great. The staff very friendly and knowledgeable, the hotel clean an inviting as soon as you walk through the door. I go as far to say the best Holiday Inn I’ve stayed and I travel regularly. Special shout out to the receptionist

Great location

Having stayed at this hotel several times previously, I had no hesitation in booking again. It is in a perfect location for both Railway station and Birmingham Hippodrome. Breakfast was better than on previous stays.

Great location but got caught out in a cold room

It was a cold winter day. We were allocated a room with no heating, but a small electric heater was already in the room. It didn't do much and the central heating was out of order. We asked for it to be rectified and they brought us another tiny heater. When we complained, we were moved to a warm room! result! the breakfast was very good and the staff were friendly. And of course, the location is great for the travelling and shopping.
