Hidden Gem

We were looking for a hotel at the last minute that was near the venue for our daughter's dance competition. We stumbled upon The Kelly and are so glad we did! Affordable, quaint area with unique shops and restaurants. The hotel was very nice. Our room seemed newly renovated. The only complaints we had were that parking wasn't free (but we found free parking on the street since it was the weekend), there was a little bit of someone's stay-put lipstick that stayed put on my juice glass at breakfast 😅, and the restaurant closed earlier than advertised on Google on Saturday evening, leaving us a little hungry going to bed. None of those things were deal breakers and we already booked it again for the next competition in April! Oh, and the old fashioned from the lobby bar was 👍👍

For the price and location this is an excellent choice for downtown Birmingham. Great location, staff very accommodating and knowledgeable- even though my room did not have heat (unit was down half way through stay) they quickly and efficiently switched me to another room. Very personable and friendly would definitely recommend if you don’t need a million different services!

Decent but not the best

Decent stay, food wasn’t the best, the window in the room sounded like it was open although it wasn’t - the elevators seemed like they needed maintenance they were slow and I had to push the open door button whenever I got to my floor (12).. the gym wasn’t accessible looked as tho it were still being worked on .. the aesthetics of the lobby is what got me to book but it wasn’t the best.. it was decent

A complimentary water bottle in the room was half drank when we arrived, the valet service was overpriced and not timely. There was a breakfast fee yet breakfast was still charged and not complimentary. Will not be staying here again.
