I contacted the hotel the day that I would be arriving. I called at 10 AM to be sure that the room had already been paid for with my credit card. And to inform them that I would not be arriving at 4 PM, check in time that I wouldn’t be arriving until 730 and I wanted to be sure that I would still have my room. I was staying at this hotel because I had a 6 AM appointment at Delray Medical Center for a biopsy. Plenty of stress already I wanted to be sure my room would be there. And why wouldn’t it? It was already charged to my credit card. I arrived to the property at 7:15 PM and as I was gathering my belongings from my vehicle, the phone rang, it was the front desk. Callingto inform me that there were no more rooms. They gave my room away. I said I will be right there and walked into the lobby and approach the front desk. I told her who I was, and she looked awfully surprised. Yes I am the one you just called to tell say you gave my room away. After just a short while she ended up finding me a room. Not the room I had paid for. No I paid for a higher price room, but this is all she had and she could not refund my money. As though I didn’t have enough to worry about for the next morning. Would I suggest anyone else stay at this property? Not a chance. To give away someone’s room, already paid for is unacceptable. Not all the blame on this property. Just a few short months ago I had an even worse situation through Expedia. Bad business.
