Not quite the idyllic setting we believed it would be. Most of the rooms are in separate 1 or 2-storey wooden buildings of between 3 and 6 rooms.
Our 'ocean front' room was the ground floor of one of these buildings, approached over an uncut long grassy area constantly used by dog walkers to 'exercise' their dogs! Not very pleasant. It wasn't helped by there being no way to stop 'walkers' looking into our room unless we drew the curtains, and then we had no view!
Being wooden the floors were very uneven, the closet was just a single hanging rail in the room, and the sink area of the bathroom had no door! Although the towels were changed every day the room was not cleaned at all during our stay.
The service in the restaurant was extremely slow. On our first morning we waited over 15 minutes for the server to take our order, and then she came back 15 minutes later to ask us what we had ordered. The food came some 15 minutes after that. On the second morning we gave up waiting after half an hour and left. The third morning we tried ordering in advance, but when I went to collect it, half of the order was missing - we never had breakfast there again.
A similar experience ensued in the evening, and after the second night we always ate out.
Having said that, the pool area was good, quiet and peaceful. We were lucky with the weather, and the pool was heated, so very pleasant.
The area around the hotel is good for walking, with great views over the harbour and surrounding areas.
