We really enjoyed our stay at the Hawthorne Hotel except the fire alarm went off in the building after my family (including 13 month baby) went to sleep. We had to evacuate down the stairs just to find out in the lobby it was nothing. Thankful it was nothing, but very disruptive/stressful for us.

Absolutely amazing hotel. The staff was so friendly. The hotel is walking distance to everything. Great food, museums and shopping. Everything you could possibly want to do is so close. The bed was so soft and comfortable, had the best nights sleep. The decor was cozy and nostalgic. 100/10

Location, location, location!! The Hawthorne is right where you want to stay if you’re touring Salem. Everything is within walking distance which made it so much easier to navigate the city. Staff was amazing as well. Overall, an amazing place to stay.

Lots great- comfortable beds, super parking, location, friendly staff. Noisy outside thrum all night long not great, toilet area quite small, hot water from sink took very long. Doors slam shut for each room so noisy some nights quite late when guests return.

Room was just OK… No microwave, no fridge. I know this is supposed to be a Heritage hotel, but they could make it a little more comfortable…the bathroom so very tiny…one person could barely fit in there. Probably won’t stay here again for the price.

First time in Salem… super cool place to visit! This is a wonderful historic hotel… great location, walking distance to everything, free parking is on site behind the building. The room and bathroom are small but both very clean. The hotel’s Tavern was great for a late night dinner and drink after a ghost tour, especially because most places close early on a Monday night.
