A relaxing Saturday night stay.

Great service, comfortable room. Slightly worn decor and hallway somewhat noisy but this didn’t really affect our stay and was balanced out by how helpful and attentive the staff were.

AWFUL STAY! Stayed 2 nights. Bad stay on 2nd night as kept awake all night with rowdy/fighting guests in bar beneath our room. Started at 11:50pm with guests standing outside the main entrance drinking, smoking and talking loudly. Tried to call reception on numerous occasions but no answer. Husband had to go to the bar at 3:30am to complain to barman and ask for them to quieten down, this never happened! Ended at 6:10am when the two guests had a very heated argument/fight with swearing at the top of their voices! Reported to male receptionist F at front desk at 9 am, said he was aware of the rowdy guests who had run up a bar bill without paying and then checked out, so the staff were fully aware of the situation that had happened during the night. We were told to email the hotel manager Rose G which I did the next morning, no response! I then emailed through Expedia and had a short response from female C to say the email was not received but no new email address provided so sent the explanation/complaint through Expedia (who I had also informed about the stay) so I know the hotel would see these messages. In total I have sent 10 emails, made 2 phone calls and was told someone would contact me back....it has now been over 3 months since this started and NOT ONE RESPONSE OR CONTACT FROM ANYONE AT THE ORCHID HOTEL. I cannot believe all the glowing reviews about certain members of staff, all I can say is you are very lucky! No wonder the hotel is being sold off...AVOID!

Good location in Bournemouth.

Check in was OK. Requested second room key, but never received one over duration of stay. Smallish room, but adequate for purpose. Convenient location, close to beach and town centre. Quiet, in off season. Paid parking only.

One of the best hotels I have stayed at. The room was very comfortable and tidy. The staff were excellent and helpful. It is a short distance to the beach and shops. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

After booking through booking. Com we paid in full. The next day we got a message from the hotel stating we need to pay £10parking for 1 night .this was not declared by our booking.i rang the hotel and they told me that if a booked direct its free!!! The customer is being mugged after settling the payment the day after . This is bad muggy practice. Then asked to take £50 against damage,the carpet in the room was already badly stained and the walls marked. This was our 3rd stay ,not again while this is way we are treated.

Disappointing stay

The check in was lengthy and complicated due to how we had booked on line but then sorted . The car park fee is far too much was cross about this x The room was fine but no lift working ! Hardly any staff about to help with questions once booked in x The carpet in our room looked old and stains in places and window blind broken Room 205 . Fortunately we had eaten out at lunch time as people waiting for their early evening meal were let down as apparently the Chef had left in an emergency ! No one at the bar to serve only one receptionist on trying to check in deal with the bar and make soup/sandwich for one couple who had booked a meal she rang to cancel the others ! I felt very sorry for her as clearly she was stressed . The bar didn’t have many supplies of draft beer or cider no nibbles at all which a few people asked for as no food available x So there were quite a few things not good there x just seemed there were not enough staff at all . Breakfast was ok but buffet style only so food had been cooked for quite a while and one man got his money back as they ran out of bacon ! Looking back at your reviews these are common factors over the last few months and clearly nothing has been done to rectify any of these problems x I stayed there a few years ago and it was first class but won’t be returning unless it gets better such a shame as it’s a lovely small hotel the staff that were there were very pleasant but clearly not happy! You will lose custom soon!!

Not until you booked that a £10. parking charge was incurred. Wanted a £50 security deposit but if on your credit the return would not be given until 7-21 business working days unless you paid cash restaurant was closed pm overpriced bar prices, lift out of order, no offer of assistance with luggage which we had to carry upstairs and along distance to room. My husband being 81 and myself 70 so a bit of a struggle. Room carpet full of stains. Slight issue with shower. No bottled water no glasses. Very disappointed shall not be returning, not value for money!!
