Look, tbf its somewhere to get your head down.The place is looking tired n bit run down but can say the same when you look around the area. Breakfast wasn't classy but Ok. Must say all staff were excellent. So, cheap n cheerful it was.

We had to move room 3 times, the first room was next to work in progress, difficult to get down stairs, the second room had a tree outside the window giving us no view, the TV was also not working properly, the third room was ok but the floorboards creaked everytime you walked over them.

The hotel is excellently located and has excellent parking, albeit at extra cost unless you book directly with the hotel. One of the reception staff was a little curt, one pleasant but the former was not unpleasant or rude. The room I had was very dowdy and in need of decorating. It was however very clean with an excellent TV and a fairly generous supply of tea and coffee. The bed was comfortable and the linen was fresh. Best of all the shower, although a mixer type running from the taps, was so good and it was easy to get the balance right. I have had much worse showers in more much more expensive establishments. A rubber anti slip mat was supplied and, again, the towels were clean and the toilet and sink were old but clean. Please don’t let my comments about the old style and worn appearance of the room put you off. It has a pool, bar and would cater for your needs very well. I have stayed here before and will not hesitate to book again if I need an inexpensive room in the area.

Room was a nice size as had booked an executive room. Unfortunately in process of refurb so on arrival the builders were sanding on the next floor which was very loud. Air conditioning in bathroom and refrigerator were both very loud, switched fridge off but unfortunately couldn’t do that with air conditioning. Central heating turned on in the afternoon and about 5 in the morning with a whooshing noise. Informed staff and was told they knew about it. No dining room in the evenings which we did know when we booked, which was a shame. Used swimming pool which needs a bit of tlc. Staff were nice. We have stayed here before and hope that once all the refurb has been done this hotel will be up to scratch.
