This hotel used to be SO much better!

I've been staying at The Village Bournemouth for 10 years. The location is great, but the standards have been slipping. I emailed my feedback to the hotel in 2024 and received a reply that promised improvements, but a year later and nothing seems to have happened. On arrival, I was struggling with a large amount of luggage and there was no offer of help from the reception staff. Both of them stood there and watched! The rooms are dated, there's only one lift for the entire hotel and breakfast is very poor. I use the Starbucks for breakfast instead but this time it opened late with only one member of staff and had a limited offering. If the location wasn't so perfect for what I need, I would not return. There are lots of hotels in Bournemouth and it appears to be time to check them out.

Customer service was great staff very helpful. Disappointed that the children's bed were mattresses on the floor. The amenities were great pool and sauna were all great kids loved it.

Everything was good for the purpose of our visit except when we went to bed. At 4.30am the smoke detector started to go off intermittently every half an hour do we didn't get a lot of sleep. Very disappointed when we complained about it jn the morning.

Nice hotel and enjoyable stay.

Our stay was good although couple of areas that could be improved. At breakfast on both days there didn't appear to be anyone ensuring that things were kept available, juice, plates, cereals had to be requested as had run out, bread was very dried and could be covered easily to avoid this. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Prefer to have a personal communication on arrival which wasn't the case when we arrived and had to do own check-in. Someone did arrive when we had completed and apologised but we had already muddled through. Nice hotel and comfortable.

Stay was amazing, but being 155kg the toilets were so dreadful. All the toilets are built into the wall. Def cannot hold a plus size person. What happened to toilet on the floor
