The premises are not staffed for most of the time and you have to go into the neatby Marstons pub to check in. The rooms are clean, comfortable and well equipped.

Too cold on bar in rooms only fire place not enough warm and no meal on Thursday cos broken in kitchen. Sensor key card front door problem in sleep room n can’t go in . Then I go back bar closed 11pm already. I text my brother for help cos I’m Deaf and call Night porter from 10Pm to 6am. Porter ignore n few hung up make me frustrated n angry .

The room had two lights faulty and even after reporting nothing was done. I am eighty next year my wife is seventy six and having to carry luggage up a flight of stairs with the light going out before reaching the first landing made the trip hazardous. Having said that the staff at evening meal were exemplary

The room was spotless ,the lovely head housekeeper helped me get into the room because the battery in the door lock had died, only took 10 minutes to sort , lovely room with bath which I enjoy after my long walks ,I had a fabulous break ,will definitely stay here again , very quiet room and considering it was school holidays quite remarkable !
