Good location

Enjoyed the stay overall, 2 glitches were that our rooms weren't ready at 3pm as the cleaner had only just arrived, so there was a delay - irksome, and constructive criticism would be that they enlarge the dining room and reduce the unused lounge area. Big demand on tables during breakfast was hectic. Easy access to central Bruge, buses, banks restaurants. Staff friendly.

Free parking

We've got a car so the availability of parking is our main priority and so the Brugotel was what we were after.... The room and hotel were good, the hallway to the room was tired but that's it... No internet available in the room but it was free and fine in the bar.... Easy 20 minute walk into the city so that was good....And found a do it yourself laundromat near by which was also a winner

Excellent location in need of a little decoration

The location of Brugotel is fantastic for the motoring holiday maker. Just over an hour from Calais and not far from the motorway, this hotel was very easy to get to and well placed. A special discount rate on return taxis are available from reception at €8 each way, which is the same as 4 people on a bus! Excellent value! The hotel staff were very accommodating, polite and professional. The rooms were clean but I would say our bathroom was well overdue a refit with broken bathroom tiles and a bath suite that had seen far better days. I will definitely recommend this hotel and will stay again.

Choose it if you are a deep sleeper

Everything was ok for the price we paid except for the paper thin walls. You can hear neighbors walk, talk and snore...

Not bad, not amazing

The public bits are all lovely. The breakfast was very good. The check in was all very smooth. The parking was free. The room was disappointing. Very small, once nicely decorated but now with chipped paint, scratched walls and dingy bathroom which needed de-moulding. Pillows not great. But hey, if you're not spending a long time there, it did the job. The lady working in the breakfast room looked very miserable to be there, but perhaps she was just having a bad morning. The chaps on reception were courteous, helpful and polite. The location was good if you're driving, but quite far from the centre - good for walking off all the chocolate! All in all, it was fine, but not very special or friendly, which is a shame because it had the potential to be very nice indeed.

Nice hotel, on the outskirts of city

Generally clean, with all amenities needed. About 30 min walk to city. Breakfast.is expensive for cold.buffet. No other meals offered. Bed is comfy giving a good night's sleep. I would stay again tho

Basic, but comfortable

Easy to find using Sat Nav, rooms very basic, but clean and comfy, bar prices expensive and breakfast was very good value for money. Being English had no trouble being understood, could do with evening food, but good food outlets only a short walk from hotel.

Easy to drive to

Really easy to find by road and a quick drive from Calais. Good base for exploring the city on foot (c. 20mins to the edge of the old town), or driving to battlefields.

Great.... But!

The hotel was great and the room was comfortable however me and my partner were resting in our room when we heard the door open the receptionist that had booked us in has then rebooked the room for someone else and he walked in. We were lucky we were in if not then what a terrible way to start the holiday with something like that!!

Great Stay at a great price

Good location especially if driving from calais. Could not be easier. Hotel can add taxi to your room at just 8 euros a trip. Nice bar and rooms are decent enough.

Quirky and modern. Well worth the 30 minute walk down to the Old town square which is stunning.

Good hotel for short overnight stay

The location was great, close to the highway and easy to find. We were disappointed that the free WiFi was only available in the lobby, we would have liked it in the room as well. Also the rooms were very compact, it was functional but very small.

Very basic

The bedroom accomodation was very basic, very cramped, no bedside cabinets, no coffee/tea making facilities. And it hadn't been clear to me how far out of town it was, 30 minutes walk.

Good value and only a short walk from the city

We enjoyed our stay at Brughotel - it was modern and clean and the breakfasts were very good. Good value too. We walked to and from the city each day and to get to the start of the interesting bit (cutting through the station) took about 15 to 20 minutes which was fine. Buses out to city in the morning were fine if needed - buses back to the bottom of the road stopped quite early 8 or 9pm - the nearest you could get was the station. If you are reasonably fit, the walk is no issue.

Good sleep, excellent breakfast, staff friendly,OUR en-suite facilities somewhat tired but we are aware that a programme of refurbishment is under way and the refreshed facilities looked good.

Pay more for a better hotel.

The hotel was just ok. The 'Trendy' room was small, with no extra comforts such as a kettle or hair dryer. The beds were very uncomfortable and the pillows were like bricks. The wifi was only available in the bar area, not throughout the hotel as it suggests on their web site. The wifi was poor and everyone had difficulty connecting. One plus point was that the breakfast was varied and plentiful. At the end of the day, you get what you pay for. This is a budget hotel.

ok if you are happy to be just outside the city

The check in had a bit ofm a "can't do" attitude. She might have been new but what hotel can't find an extra pillow?

Great hotel for a short break with friends

It was quite pleasant and friendly. The location meant a pleasant stroll for 30 mins to get into town but it was worth it.

Photo makes it look cool and funky but it is basic

This hotel is basic and boxy but given a stylish set of lighting to make it look nicer and they have a few funky features, like lots of light switches by the headboard but in a tiny double room these are not really very useful. Also it states: "You can visit historical sights like Bruges Belfry -- just minutes away" reception informed us it was at least 30 minutes walk and we ended up driving into the old town as we were pushed for time. It is really situated next to a dual carriageway in the suburbs. It was clean but the silica round the bath tub was going black and the air vent did not pull much steam after the shower. I would stay here again but only if the price you get is low!

Excellent value for money

Given the exorbitant prices for Hotels in Brugge this hotel was modern, clean, conveniently located outside of Brugge. Not a place to explore Brugge from, but a good stop-over hotel

Good location, poor quality bedroom furniture

Great location, you can buy a taxi coupon from reception who will arrange a driver to drop you in /collect you later from the centre (£16 I believe) nice staff and good self serve breakfast. Poor quality bed and the bathroom was tiny and old, apart from that all good for our one night stay!

Good budget hotel

Booked a trendy room. this really was a minimalist room with only the bare nesecities. No hairdryer though there were toiletries. Window could not be left open during nght as someone could on ground floor open window when sleeping. so keep window closed. Very good breakfast. In all value for money hotel with parking and 20 mins walk to city centre
