Poor front desk help was the only person on staff on a Sunday night. We had an issue with the 1st room and in the 2nd room, the tv was not working. The front desk girl got it to work but it took her away from working. Although, she was very nice about the problem. Parking was very very tight.

I enjoyed my stay at the Loyal Duke Lodge in Salida for the most part. The front desk attendant seemed to be a bit scatter brained, as she assigned me to a room where the beds were unmade. I then asked for a different room, but preferably on the 2nd or 3rd level. She said that none were available, though there seemed to be several upper level rooms vacant that evening and the next morning. Apart from this though, the rooms are quite comfortable and well-furnished/designed. The covered pool and hot tubs are a bonus amenity, though the maintenance of these facilities appears to be questionable. Nonetheless, it was a comfortable stay and located in a very walkable part of town.

We were in a king room, bed was way too soft, the air unit kept cutting on & off all night and it was very loud. No tissues in the bathroom, found some just as we were leaving shoved back in a dark shelf which is part of the only nightstand in the room. There’s only about 16” on the other side, of the bed next to the wall. Very dark room!

Avoid unless you're just crashing for a few hours. The photos mainly show the reception area - big red flag. The actual rooms are dark, outdated, and incredibly basic. Floors were dirty throughout the property when we arrived. The biggest issue is noise. This place is completely unsuitable for anyone needing sleep. Three floors, cars parked right outside rooms, pet-friendly policy, and zero soundproofing means constant noise from other guests, car doors, and animals from late evening through early morning. We brought industrial earplugs and still couldn't sleep. For the price they charge, you expect much better. There are no redeeming features to justify the cost. Only book this if you're arriving very late and leaving very early and don't actually need to sleep. Otherwise, pay a bit more and stay somewhere that won't leave you exhausted

We have 2 fur babies we are in our 70s and preferred ground level room. Zena was optimistic and said it was only a small flight of stairs and it could have been 2. Very sincere and helpful. It was a small flight of very stable stairs. Great young lady. Thank you! ☺️

The walls are pretty thin and per usual the people above us were walking back and forth early in the morning and it was noisy. The parking lot was very crowded and hard to find a spot to park after 10lm.

The room was quiet and comfortable. The location is about 1.5 miles from downtown Salida, which is accessible on foot or easily by car. Breakfast was adequate.
