We were charged an inflated rate, mishandled and treated poorly despite the hotel’s error being clear.
I booked using Expedia and later called to extend the stay, the receptionist explained to me they couldn’t extend the stay due to third party limitations but that upon arrival, we could book the additional night at check-in. During our stay we received a call from the hotel and was told we had to check out and that our room was already booked for another guest. After showing proof of an e-mail I received from Hilton with the correct dates, the manager proceeded to pass the blame onto us. Over 2.5 hours later, we were accommodated in another room paying the inflated rated. Later that evening, we had to deal with a staff member who was visibly intoxicated and/or high at the front desk while the manager tried to dismiss the situation. The entire experience was unprofessional, stressful and disruptive to our plans. Clearly, they have incompetent people working here and they help each other cover up their mistakes. It is unfortunate because the hotel itself is great, it’s centrally located with clean rooms and comfortable beds. Lesson learned, triple check the information provided and get everyone’s name.
