We stayed at Rochelle's cabin for two full days and had a good time. The weather wasn't the best, but we were about to go canoeing - the surroundings and the lakes are nice. The sauna is just awesome, we were looking for a proper Finnish wood sauna, there you go.
We were looking for something out of the city. We found it!!

Family stay for the summer
It was very basic and the washroom was quite far from the house. It had a lot of great supplies but could sure use a good cleaning. Was very cozy once we got settled.
Quiet country environment in a rustic cabin for a recovery weekend. Exactly what we needed for final days with our dearly beloved senior dog. The cabin had everything we needed for meals, sheets were clean, and the owner made a great recommendation for a beach we could get to with our doggo. He really enjoyed the sniffs and the deer head he found while on walkies. And we made good use of the grass yard for naps and the firepit.

Will i had, the cabin booked, the directions given were incorrect. The owner provided 3 incorrect phone numbers to vbro, we were given the wrong numbers, and they forgot they had the cabin booked. And they left town, for the weekened.

It was a nice cabin, but not what we where expecting there was no atv or boat rentals like the ad said, no wirlpool, no shower had to buy camping showers. The cabin was not cleaned very well. Other than that it was a nice place quiet and peaceful at night
My husband and I had a great time at this cabin. It was great to unplug. Our dogs loved being able to run around the property while we walked the little trail along the property. The hosts were responsive to our questions and check-in was well communicated.
We really enjoyed our stay, so much we didnt want to leave. So peaceful & so much space to enjoy. The only thing i wasn't impressed to find was the outhouse toilet & bench was covered in crap, which repulsed me to no end!! That is what lost one star.
The cabin was perfect for our family of 4 to get away for a weekend. The sauna was easy to start and use and HOT even on a -30 degree weekend, it was a nice bonus. Once the cabin was hot it was easy to maintain a good temp, recommend taking slippers on a super cold weekend for the first 12 hours the floors are cold. Lots of wood available and right by door for easy loading into cabin. Beds and cabin were clean. Lots of room to relax and play games inside. Outhouse was clean, only thing was there wasn’t a trail plowed or shovelled to it so we had to do that, rest of yard was plowed nicely for easy turn around and parking. Nice location, easy to find and easy check in. Very responsive And helpful host
We had a great time. Was happy to see there was some supplies there …. coffee (n toppings ), toilet paper , paper plates/cups/utensils,napkins,propane , water , garbage bags. We especially enjoyed the privacy and the amount of spacious land it was on .Was awsome to see how the wood was already prepped and an abundance supply of it n sauna prepping already set up making it easy and convenient to use . Working stove , fridge and microwave. Only suggestions to update would be some plug in fans for summer as there is no a/c , updated toaster as it didn’t work , and the lights/plug ins in one of the rooms didn’t work. And we wish that there had been more game boards and a couple out door equipment for jids/adults to stay entertained. The store was very close making it convenient. We will definitely be back in, thankx to the owners/management and the site that’s helped with info and booking.
To go take a collection
We took an adventure to a cabin on a property that we thought was a great location for backcountry snowmobiling and ice fishing on remote lakes with limited access .
We were a bit worried about the wood burning heater but it was definitely adequate in any weather . It was -20 c average and it was as warm as we wanted it . We had a well for water that was just fine and easy to access . We got the sauna up to temp and had a really great experience . Perfect set up wood heat with a heated change room and an outdoor covered deck .
The many lakes in the area were within minutes to access . There is a local store that is stocked with anything you need even fresh baked buns , pizza , bait , gas and liquor .
All in all we loved it but it’s not for everyone .
If you don’t mind using an outhouse or keeping a fire or pumping your water from a well , then I’d say it’s perfect . We will be back that’s for sure !
