What a wonderful lake house! Upon our arrival, Carolyn had some delicious cookies set aside to greet us, a binder full of useful information including restaurants and area things to do, and a printed sheet with local daily activities. The bedrooms were all individually unique, comfortable and spacious. The kitchen was well stocked which was appreciated as I cooked several meals during our stay. Carolyn was easy to communicate with. We didn’t have any problems during our stay, but I know we would have had a quick response if anything came up.

Stay at riverfront house

First off I want to say overall the house was great. It was cozy with great decor and furniture. There is enough furniture for 10 people to stay in the house. It has a great riverfront view, only obscured by a few trees. The owner was super friendly and helpful. However, there are a few issues with the house we want to make potential renters aware of. First, the only bathroom is tiny. Only one person at a time could use it, though there is a door to separate the toilet. The shower is just a "cozy" stall. Second, the house must have been built for shorter people. The current owner did not build the house. The shower head is only about 5'7" high and all the mirrors in the house were 6 inches to low. We are tall (6') and larger. Third, apparently at certain times of the year, large branches and tree trucks wash ashore. There must have been literally 100s of branches and whole trees littering the shoreline of all houses, not just this one. This is not the owners fault, but be aware, it can hamper ability to jump in the river to swim. Finally, the house has a long, downward sloping driveway with no easy way to turn around that can be tricky to back out, especially at night (backup camera is VERY helpful).

Great lakefront property with private dock and boat lift! Boat launch is 3 minutes away and worked perfect for our 17’ bass tracker. Watched bald eagles from the deck. Will stay again in the future.

Cosy lakefront stay

Enjoy the lake

Beautiful scenery in a lovely location. Perfect for lounging with a good book or breakfast on the deck! Indoors would benefit from updating in the kitchen and bathroom especially. We really enjoyed the great room, and the kitchen had plenty of dishes, etc. If you’re looking for a good place to enjoy the lake, though, this is great! The host was super to communicate with and supplied loads of towels. She even baked fresh cookies to welcome us! - they were excellent!

View from the Deck is the best!

This is a nice house right on the water of Lake Barkley. There is a private dock that the kids played on the whole time. Swimming, fishing, kayaking(we had our own). The house is on an open cove so there is some boat traffic but most of it is across the inlet. There is a very quiet cove just around the corner that the kids loved kayaking and fishing in. There is a nice ladder on the dock for swimming. The kids practiced on a stand up paddle board and flipping over and re-entering kayaks in safety. The water area and the view from the deck are the best features and worth checking out. The cabin is nicely appointed we even broke out the included ice cream maker and had the kids enjoy that! If you bring a family, we recommend bringing some plastic cups and paper plates. All the options in the kitchen were glass and I was a nervous wreck with the kids using them. Communication was excellent from the owner. We definitely recommend.

We had a wonderful time at the lake house. 4 adults and 2 children we had lots of room to spread out. Having 2 patio areas was nice.The view is beautiful.We took the boat and it was so convenient to dock and go up to the house if we needed anything. The kids enjoyed playing with their battery operated boat off the dockThere is a boat lift which was nice.My husband uses a walker and it was very easy for him to get around. We cooked in and had everything we needed.The beds were very comfortable.The house was very clean.Our grandchildren said this was one of their favorite places to come.We made great memories here!! Carolyn and her husband were a phone call away if we needed anything.There were fresh chocolate chip cookies for us to enjoy which was a nice touch they were delicious !! We will definitely rent this home again !!! Thank you for sharing your home with us !!
