We adored Puerto Morellos. Fabulous beach and lots of great beach restaurants. Quiet town with lots of restaurants and live music. The property was cute and the staff very responsive and nice. Our only complaint was the sewer system which was emitting odour in our suite by the end of our stay.

This is a mixed review. The things I liked were - Close to the pier, beach & square & very walkable distance to cafes & restaurants. The things that I’m indifferent about but are still good to know - This is an older building with basic accommodation. It’s like a hostel style accommodation in the sense that there are no amenities apart from hand soap & toilet paper & there are no daily room services, which is totally fine. All rooms are private though with a private bathroom & kitchenette with refrigerator. I stayed 6 nights & I would have expected a change of the bins & towels around night 3, but I also didn’t ask for them to be changed so not entirely the fault of the hosts. Things that could be improved - Cleanliness - The floors had clearly not been cleaned well, if at all, as there was grit on the floor as well as hair that was definitely not from me (I have extremely short hair & there were many long hairs on the floor & in the bathroom drain). The kitchenette could use a good wipe over (cupboard doors & microwave) & there was no dishwashing liquid or to wash up or kitchen towel to dry up. The shower curtain could definitely do with replacing as it had mould stains on it & while the bed was comfy enough, the sheets were pretty thin & there was no mattress protection under the sheet. All of these things are an easy fix with a little more effort. I don’t mind that a place is older or basic, as long as it’s clean.

Not sure how Expedia can advertise a property like this one! It’s outdated and dirty; there is not value for money. There is no registration of guests, no cleaning of rooms and I had to chase the only employee for clean towels. I expect Expedia will reimburse me for the nights I had to stay at a different hotel. Very disappointed!

Great location. Our room (#11) was smaller than it appeared in photos. Kitchenette very small and nothing provided except dish detergent. Hammocks were excellent addition but building could use some love. Not good value for money, we left early and found nicer cheaper places on the beach side.

The location couldn't really be better, as it was 2 minutes to the beach, restos and amenities. The two woman who were "managing" the place were very pleasant and helpful. The furnishings are comfortable and the beds adequate. However, the whole unit needs a good cleaning, dusting and maybe a little paint. As well, it would be a good idea to invest in some new pots, pans and utentsils. Considering the price, I'd say we got a good deal.

Great place

Very convenient to the beach and in the middle of town. the hotel has great deck decks with hammocks and a pool. The town was more expensive than we expected, but it is mostly a tourist town so that's to be expected. We'll definitely come back if we can.

Bed was broken we fixed ourselves. Posted rate was not what was charged. Costs 200 nightNsoap for dishes ehich were not clean..

Hotel is close to beach and town square. Easy to walk. Staff are friendly. Room has kitchen and full size fridge. Place is in bad condition and needs renovations. Next to nightclub so its very loud at night. Beds were rock hard and small. Seemed like there were extra fees and taxes.

Loved the all new, modern room. The property gives opportunity to meet other travelers and they were all kind and helpful. When they ask what time you are arriving it’s because no one is there at times. We were unable to checkin or out and the guests watched our things while we went to an appointment returning hours later to find a lady that gave us a key to the room. No one was at the location when we left at ckout time. I was charged more than the quoted amount by Orbitz of 7.00 but no one to ask! The place is nice and would stay again but converse before arrival!!!

An authentic Mexican stay. Most everything you need and in a great location close to town. The music from the neighboring bar was done around 10/11 each night and didn’t bother us. Lucy was amazing but does not speak english. Other residents smoked and if wafted into our room which wasn’t pleasant. We would stay here again.

The property was one block from the beach The cleaning lady was a great woman and very helpful There were bugs in the room. Lot and lots of ants everywhere The pool was the size of a hot tub Run down place and when using the visa machine billed me over a $100 to use it I would never stay here Big mistake that I did

Nice place!

Very friendly and accommodating staff and the room was clean. The bed was not comfortable and there was quite a bit of noise at night which stopped about midnight. The location is excellent.

The Casa is a wonderful old style Mexican hotel, nice clean rooms, a great deck with small pool for all to use and hang out in the afternoon or evening. Close to all stores, beach restaurants etc. What really makes Casa Valero a great place to stay is the manager/host Debra. If the owners are smart, they will give her a huge raise to make sure she stays for a long time. Loved our 2 weeks.
