Overall a good experience (stayed a week in April 2025). I’ll start with the cons. Seems not a lot of guests were even aware of the entertainment options (small dead venues). The rooms need improvements, drinks watered down no matter what bar it was from (only exception was espresso martinis from the buffet). Lied to about a “special price” for the spa and massage when it was the same price on the website. Was charged for the bottle of wine at Frattinis after dinner. Hot tub could be hotter with Inop jets in the pool area, spa area hot tub same. Older crowd not many young couples 21-30 it seemed from what I saw. Guests hoarding outdoor seating with towels, very inconsiderate. Pros. Location and layout of the hotel, easy to navigate. Plenty of entertainment options to do, and outside games during the day (life size chess, jenga, corn hole) by the pool. Food was good at zango buffet, gaijin, frattinis, and st trop. The gym had plenty of equipment for a workout. Tennis courts in good condition. Plenty of seating on the beach. Overall a good time, although substantial updates could be made to enhance the guest experience.

Our stay at this Cancun resort was truly exceptional. The attentive and professional staff ensured a seamless experience. Everything about the hotel is amazing except seating around the pool. Everyday we had a really hard time finding anywhere to sit around the pool area. There are 3 different pool areas and all 3 were always full.

It was too quiet and boring. Bars closed early around 5pm outside so we had to go inside for more drinks. No music played outside, so no good vibes. There was a dead cockroach on the floor in the kitchen. Staff wasn’t giving off good vibes like other places I’ve stayed. More of a relaxing elderly resort

The property is older, but seems well maintained and very clean. The spa facilities could definitely use an update. Food was good at the buffet and all the restaurants. Only complaint was there are not enough chairs/umbrellas around the pool or beach, and there was no option to reserve a Bali bed. It is all first come first served and people wake up at 5am to go put towels and belongings to save spots. Overall, for the price point, we would go there again. The food and drinks were good and the staff is great!

Stayed for seven days air conditioning out for almost all seven days. Had to ask four times to fix it would work then went out after four hours. The electrical plug came off the wall and our friends air conditioning unit leaked all over their room and they had to clean it up overall stay was terrible. The customer service was pretty good. We loved Freddy at the restaurants and bar. He was awesome.

The property is small, you’d be lucky to find a chair by the pool that isn’t taken by someone from 5 am… people reserve the pool beds/chairs by putting their towels and leaving half the day without being present, reserving everything & limiting other people who actually want to sit by the pool from being there. Regarding the food, the options are very limited and the quality is poor. Especially the buffet (Zenuga) there are very limited dishes, food is bland and tastes like cheap quality. There aren’t any seafood dishes at the buffet. They filled a whole station with sauces and dips, seems like to add to the quantity & making it look like they have dishes but truly they barely do. The restaurant options vary from Italian, Japanese Hibachi & international. The food at these restaurants is edible. If you want to eat good food, you have to get out of the resort to the surrounding restaurants, which defeats the whole purpose of all inclusive, right? We spent a lot of money on food from outside the resort in order to eat good food. Staff are nice & friendly. The nicest part about the resort is the pool area, but very limited seating that doesn’t accommodate everyone there, again only because people reserve by throwing their belongings on beds/chairs & disappearing the entire day. They need to figure out a better system regarding this.

This is a nice, relatively quiet property. It has a lot less rooms than most of the resorts in the hotel zone. It should be noted that we truly enjoyed our stay, but we did not think we received the VIP upgrades we paid for. Our room over looked the tennis courts and was loud due to machines running below our room. From our balcony we did have bay views. The pro’s for the resort include: friendly staff, hotel and premises kept very clean, good food and many options to choose from. There were plenty of pool towels, no cards needed and rooms had keyless entry. Daily yoga or stretching classes were offered. The con’s include: no hot tub as noted in the hotel description unless you paid for a spa service, a nice gym but equipment not maintained and not cleaned by staff or guests after use, no hand sanitizer as is customary in most resorts in any common areas or restaurants. We do agree we would stay at this resort again. The wait staff was exceptionally friendly and reservations were easy to make for our stay upon arrival. The showers had plenty of hot water and water pressure. No issues with A/C. I gave this resort a four star rating but it’s really a 4.5 and could easily become a 5 with small changes. They offer an app, but some of that was still in development stages, when it’s fully functional, that will be an excellent addition. From the hotel, you could walk to two nearby malls. We also walked to a nearby bus stop to catch the ferry for a trip to the Isle Mujures.

The hotel staff is great, but the choices of resort activities, drinks, and restaurant foods were not bad but not good. I had a feeling of grey or blah for everything. I can't explain it, but nothing about Sandos Resort is worth remembering.
