The property is found down hill after years of enjoyment. Da Vinci their best restaurant has become their worst. Checkin times took about an hour. The rooms were not cleaned unless we complained meaning we had no clean towels. The beach was gross - totally eroded and covered in seaweed. The pool entertainment was a bright spot at least. We also experienced the property during a massive power outage that had all our rooms totally blacked out and air conditioning shut off for half the day in 90 degree heat. The staff was not at all accommodating in the situation and kind of waived us off when we asked for information. The overall quality has dropped off in recent years

After 20+ years and countless stays at the Grand Wyndham in Cancun (formerly Omni), our May 24-28, 2025, trip was a shocking letdown. Once a family-friendly gem, this resort has plummeted under Wyndham’s management, saved only by two exceptional pool bartenders. Our arrival was a mess: a 45-minute wait in 95°F heat for the hotel’s shuttle, with unanswered calls. The front desk dismissed our complaint, stating the $80 fee applies “whether they’re late or not.” That night, a power outage left the hotel swelteringly unbearable (95°F, 100% humidity). The receptionist snapped, “It’s an external issue,” offering no fans or pool access—staff even forced us out of the pool at 9 PM. Da Vinci’s, our tradition for birthday celebrations, blindsided us with an undisclosed no-kids policy. It took three managers for a 5:30 PM seating, but the meal was awful: cold fettuccini, lasagna like “Taco Bell meat,” and ice cream instead of signature desserts. Our 20-year tradition was ruined. Rooms were neglected: no cleaning for three days, requiring two calls and an hour for towels. A broken phone (reported, ignored) and a loose, spraying shower head added frustration. Only pool bartenders Manuel and Cesar shone, attentively keeping our drinks filled. Sadly, their care couldn’t redeem the resort’s failures in service, upkeep, and hospitality. Loyal guests like us deserve better—look elsewhere.

Staff at La Paloma was great, especially Guadalupe who greeted you! Russell, a server at La Vista was excellent! Diana works at the cafe, she was excellent! What I did not like was they only had Corona beer. No other options for beer. No bueno!

My family and I stayed here for 5 nights. The beds were a little small but comfortable. The food was decent but the taco shack we still talk about. The beach was beautiful but the waves were a little rough. They could use more chairs and umbrellas around the pools. Overall we had a good time and the staff was extremely friendly.

It was not bad, it just wasn't great. Not resort like atmosphere - just a hotel with same ole all-inclusive meals. The staff was friendly. My last evening/night - the power was out in 80% of the hotel, my room had no light or air (in Cancun). The staff was not forth coming about any details, no credit or amenities were offered.

Front desk personnel was not pleasant. They did not notify us the there was no electricity and we reached to our room using our phone flash light and had to ask another guest what was happening. They did not give us the type of room we booked on Expedia and I had to go back down to the front desk to dispute this with the same unpleasant person. Not a good check in experience. Hoping that the rest of the stay gets better.

My fiancé and I loved our stay! Staff was so nice and the food was so good! Fresh sushi, fresh tacos, fresh fruit, fresh everything! The drink menu was extensive, they had plenty of stuff to work with, the hotel has millions of places to take cute pictures and they even had a night souvenir market!
