A very comfortable 3 day stay in this Village Inn with very warm welcome and friendliness throughout - informal but professional. Cleanliness of both room and bathroom excellent with some extras provided in both.
Food and menu also excellent.
Ideal location to visit Canterbury (Park and Ride close by and very easy) and nearby coast.
A lovely stay.
Wonderful break in a special pub. We really enjoyed our stay at the Duke William. The host Adam was a superstar and all the staff made our visit very special. The pub itself is the star, such a wonderful ambience, clearly loved by locals. The food is hearty and everything you want from pub grub. Our room was a little on the small side, so we had to squeeze to get around the bed, and it was on the warm side (but better that than being too cold). But lots of lovely little touches to make us feel welcome from the personalised note, to the scrummy chocolate port. The location of the pub made it a great central point to see the area being around 30 mins from Whitstable, Margate and closer still to Canterbury. Would definitely stay again if in the area, but perhaps not in the same room.
Great place to stay lovely helpful staff and excellent rooms. Massive shower and top coffee machine 👌👍💪 I didn't have time to stay for breakfast so they left me a breakfast hamper, great added touch. If I'm in the area again I would definitely stay here👍👍👍👌👌👌👌
Great off the cuff night away. Everything was brilliant. Couldn’t fault anything about the stay. Food and staff were fantastic. Definitely looking to stay again soon.
We had a fantastic stay at the Duke William, excellent staff, food and rooms. The staff are so friendly and efficient. It was great to see how they have a lovely relationship with both the locals and newcomers.
The food was amazing and a great choice. We really enjoyed our breakfast both morning and will definitely be visiting again.
Thank you to all the team at Duke William for such a lovely stay.

The Duke William is an historic pub with rooms above. The food is amazing, staff are friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere is quaint and the villagers are delightful. Betty, the pub dog, belongs to a villager, but spends her evenings at the Duke William. We highly recommend this adorable and relaxing establishment.
What a fantastic place to stay. A country pub set in a beautiful village. The pub overlooks fields. Our room was great -comfortable with quirky bits! - including a selection of books on the bookshelf to a little bottle of a liquor. Loved the pantry on the landing with fresh milk, bottles of water and extra toiletries. The breakfast is superb with a good selection of delicious items. We chose to eat in the pub - again it was absolutely delicious.
My husband and I stayed for one night, a last minute booking. The staff were really helpful and informative about the area, food was superb and the village of Ickham was beautiful and immaculate.
Lovely location. Nice room with shared terrace for hotel guests which was delightful. Good food and pleasant staff. Would definitely go back.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
The property desperately needs external tidying and painting which considering the location is a shame. We are surprised the local council have not enforced this.
This has to be the friendliest pub in England. We felt we belonged to the community 😃. Fantastic service, absolutely delicious food made from local produce and cooked by a very skilled chef. The place was full of character, even down to creaky floorboards. We loved it.
