Booked a room to see oasis , obviously prices was ramped up to exploit people but the price was not a reflection on the product. Was told I could check in at 3pm so had a dinner reservation at 4pm ended up missing our evening meal as our room wasn’t ready. Understand they was probably fully booked but when your charging people £600 plus just because a gig is on you expect to be able to check in on time. The bed was two singles pushed together which felt like it sloped right into the crack. Was clean and staff was trying there best location is also good with safe and secure parking facilities.

I was assured this would be a twin room - I requested this by message several days ahead and via a phone call - thus was definitely assured I was told. To my surprise I checked in late and wham- one queen sized bed. Had to share a bed with an adult relative which was not ideal. Also, the aircon was broken, staff tried to make it work but I was told it was malfunctioning and there was nothing they could do about it at night. Awful experience.

Would never stay here again

Personnel on the desk were incompetent and tried charging to stay the night when I had already paid, showed my receipt but he still wouldn't have it. I had paid on line through Hotels.com but he didn't know how to access the computer to see this element until his manager came across. It took a while to sort all the while we were in a rush and it looked embarrassing with other guests waiting along side us. Finally got into the room and it was so hot in the room due to the air conditioning not working. There was a small air conditioning unit and a fan in there as back up. This wasn't sufficient for the size of the room and also was very noisy through the night. This is not a temporary thing either, as there are oil filled radiators in the room for the winter months! 100% would never stay here again...please take my advice on this if you like your rooms at a constant reasonable temperature.

Room with a view… almost!

Very large, tall hotel, I was up on 14th floor. Probably a good view if the windows were cleaner! Good shower and bath, loads of space and a good big bed. Was nice to have a fridge but was empty, so water and a snack would have been good. Didn’t eat so can’t comment on food, gym well equipped. Pool looked nice but think £10 to swim for a guest is very greedy. Rooms could do with a bit of an update. Overall OK stay, slept well. 15 mins walk into castle quarter, 20 mins to main train station

Nice except for the forced entry into my roo

Check-in was smooth and the room was fine. A little disappointing that there is a surcharge to use the pool but not a big deal. Around midnight, a member of staff used their card to override the double-locked door (locking only possible from inside the room) and force entry into my room with other unknown people crowding in behind them. Not knowing who was forcing their way in, I had to leap up and run at the door naked to physically block it from opening the rest of the way. When mentioned to reception calmly in the morning, they said "these things happen" and offered me a free drink in the bar if I was staying another night (which I was not). The door had no bar or chain so I had used every available security measure there was.

I’ve stayed hear a number of times before and now it seems to be all about the money. Pay a lot to park then again to use the pool. It’s not a 4 star it’s run down dirty and really poor.
